Krit Friendly Bar&Diner — Restaurant in Krabi Province

This the easiest review I’ve written in a long while. The Krits Friendly Bar and Diner is exactly that, Friendly!! From the moment we walked along the beach and the owner greeted us we felt completely at home with the surroundings and the people within the bar. The owner and his family couldn’t do enough for us and it was a shame that we had just ate earlier as we would have definitely partaken in the BBQ on the beach. We sat in deckchairs for hours chatting and watching the world go by. As the sunset we were in the perfect spot to enough another beautiful Thai sunset. This bar is very rustic and provides you with that true authentic Thai beach atmosphere. Our resort was literally next door and I will be writing a review for them shortly after we leave. We have said that we are definitely coming back to this same location next year and spending more time on Koh Lanta experiencing that true Thai living. At the end of the night I paid the bill and the owner asked me to come to the bar where he promptly poured two shots of Thai Rum. The owner and myself had one last drink together and I promised him I’d be back next year and I can truly we will. What a beautiful end to our first visit to Koh Lanta and we will see you...

Our favorite seafood spot in Ko Lanta: super fresh, expertly cooked, and simply delicious. We discovered this hidden gem thanks to Google Maps while searching for seafood on the beach on New Year’s Eve. What a lucky find!

The fish barbecue was exceptional: perfectly tender, beautifully grilled, and accompanied by a flavorful dipping sauce. We also tried the shrimp tempura: light, crispy, and incredibly fresh.

We loved the food so much that we returned! We enjoyed a seafood fried rice, full of fresh flavors, and a Pad Thai that was incredibly tasty, with just the right balance of flavors.

To end our meal, we had mango sticky rice. It was delightful, although I would have preferred it without the mango sauce, as the fresh mango and sticky rice were already perfect together.

There’s something truly authentic about the Krit team, they give off the vibe of people who know the sea well and love what they do. Friendly, welcoming, and always smiling, they made our experiences truly wonderful.

The value for money is fantastic, especially considering the quality of the seafood. You can access the restaurant directly from the beach or park just before, then walk along the beach, passing by one other place...

We came to Krit Friendly Bar 5 times in one week! The food was so tasty, the staff were absolutely lovely, and the view on the beach was just superb. There are comfortable deck chairs laid out in front with shade (MUCH needed after midday when the sun covers everything on the beach and shelter is scarce), and even hammocks if you’re inclined to use one. Plenty of room for people, and yet really not very busy down that end of the beach. We went the other way on our first day and had dinner at a larger restaurant that appeared to be part of a hotel, and it was horrible. Krit Bar just felt right.

Safe, easy, relaxed (no pressure to buy anything) and free pineapple each visit! I honestly think I’m turning into a pineapple now. They even have the occasional haul of massive fish that they buy one of for a big fish barbecue some evenings - unfortunately we missed our chance, but it looked incredible.
