We found the White Kitchen after visiting the MOCA (Museum of Modern Art), and had the most memorable and enjoyable dining experience of our week in Bangkok!
Jib, the owner, is a bright light of joy. I was super jet-lagged and she took one look at me, and before I said anything, took away my menu and returned with a beautiful fresh salad with tofu and herbs from her garden. (I'm a vegan but made concessions while traveling, and somehow she intuited this and knew what I needed!). Then, she confirmed with my partner that he wanted something spicy, and she made Pad Kra Pao with chicken and fresh Holy Basil. (Again, his favorite dish!) We referred to her as our Thai mom for the rest of the trip.
Jib also teaches watercolor classes for kids, and shared some of her students' art with us. We loved hearing her insights about Bangkok life and the MOCA. This place is a gem. Jib, who owns the White Kitchen, gave us a live demonstration of the colour changing butterfly drink - and she made us an individual one each to our taste. She is such a lovely person with an incredibly interesting life - we ended up staying at her restaurant for hours talking about everything! She makes fresh food for the monks free of charge at the local temple every day which just shows what a wonderful and kind person she is.
The White Kitchen is definitely a MUST visit if you are looking for a friendly, homely atmosphere with freshly cooked food to eat. Visiting here has made our trip so memorable, and we will definitely be coming back the next time we visit Thailand.
Thank you Jib for the best experience we have had...
Read moreMy friend and I came to this cozy little restaurant near MOCA and we're glad we did. 😊 We we greeted by Jib the owner and explained the menu. We ordered the Thai Basil Pork with Fried egg over rice, Yakisoba with chicken and Mixed Vegetable Fried. All came in freshly cooked and delicious .👌🏼For my drink I ordered Butterfly Pea (tastes like Gulaman in the Philippines) and drink color is blue and when you add the lemon, drink becomes purple! 😱 It is super refreshing especially after a long day of walking. The owner Jib and her husband (who cooked) are the friendliest people. They are very attentive and kind. I had a great dining and awesome time in their little white cozy restaurant. I highly recommend...
