Dropped by this iconic shrimp restaurant for a family member's birthday meal in the evening. The atmosphere is what you'd imagine in a mid 2000's decor, but with thoughtful air cooler units(outdoor) which helps alot especially in the warm April & May. They do have indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor seatings and even private rooms.
Service was prompt and polite, food rating earns a modest 4 star as the deep fried battered shrimp were average (with shells intact!). On a more pleasant note, if you're a grilled shrimp lover, you'd be pleased with their signature volcano flamed shrimp with flambè action! We've also ordered morning glory which were fresh but not impressive, and the steamed white snapper with soy sauce absolutely nailed it, succulent and fresh with the perfect soy sauce mixture. Their shrimp cake are massive, chewy and properly done. Pricing is very acceptable, we've ordered 7 dishes(including dessert) and bill came to be around 2800+/-baht and we had 5pax.
Overall it's still worth the journey to make for that enjoyment.

Read moreGood food and service, with the added attraction of the flaming "Volcano" dish that this restaurant is known for. Although this flaming volcano dish is one attraction, each dish I had tasted good, whether seafood, vegetables etc. The prawn was excellent, and the "Volcano" we had was enough prawns for two people. (Although the volcano is fun, it is a matter of a few seconds entertainment, so don't get TOO excited, and have your cameras ready!) There is indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor was strongly air-conditioned. We also had some Thai staples, such as rice and tom yam kung (the latter was served on the less spicy side at our request) and of course these also tasted good. Happy to recommend a this restaurant if you are...
Read moreA must order for this restaurant is their iconic dish “Volcano Prawn”. Ask a waiter/waitress to light up the fire for you and get your camera ready! There are two type of serving for this dish is a) is 1 kg dish and b) is half kilo dish. We ordered 1 kg dish is an enough portion for two people. Apart from their iconic dish, their other food is also excellent. We had Kang Som served hot in a hot pot. And steamed snakehead fish with vegetables and dips. Both are delicious but if you have low tolerate to chili and spicy stuff, you can kindly ask them to put less chilies in there (in Thai we say “Ped Noi” = less spicy, “Mai Ped”...
