Somying's Kitchen — Restaurant in Nakhon Ratchasima Province

We were staying at the hotel, after trying the French restaurant we tried Somying’s Kitchen, which was an adventure, but not in the way we hoped.

The food and cocktails were way below standard. Each dish is around 400THB- 500THB ( cocktail around 300-400THB) , and while the staff were wonderfully friendly, the service had its quirks. Our room number was checked 4 times by two different waiters. 2nd time we were informed the room number doesn’t exist ( in a weird attitude)? The staff was super attentive, but was checking in every five minutes on our cocktail and food (perhaps the staff knew the quality…. ). As for my cocktail, they were nice to changed it three times, but somehow, each version managed to outdo the last version. I’m not a picky drinker, but the cocktail tasted like juice with iced water or alcohol with iced water.

I love Thai food and this is managed to be the wordy dining experience.

We visited Somying’s Kitchen in Khao Yai and were charmed by the restaurant's lovely design, reminiscent of a train cabin, particularly with its vibrant blue accents. However, we experienced significant delays in receiving our food, leaving us quite hungry. We ordered a plant-based meal and were surprised by the small portion sizes. The salad lacked freshness, and considering the price point, we expected higher quality ingredients, especially in a place like Khao Yai where even smaller eateries often serve fresh vegetables. We had three dishes to share, but unfortunately, they fell short in meeting our hunger. As for the wine, the menu listed a Shiraz from 2017, but we were served the 2021 vintage instead. While it was enjoyable, I had anticipated the flavor profile of the older vintage. To make matters worse, my partner discovered a half-dead big bug on the floor, mistaking it...

The breakfast restaurant offers a lovely atmosphere with a well-thought-out design that makes the dining experience enjoyable. The staff are attentive and proactive, always ensuring guests are comfortable and needs are met promptly.

That said, I wish the breakfast selection was more extensive. While the options available are sufficient, adding more variety would elevate the experience further.
