Read moreWe just love places that have a playground because, we can relax in peace having a coffee while our child roams the grounds. This is one recent restaurant café that popped up. Man, it was packed to the brim on a Monday public holiday, relaxation was out the window. It turned into a discovery trip for us instead. The horde flocks to shiny new things. Even though Kenora is deep in the locality of Ta Sai, Nonthaburi, the swarm was here. Not only locals, but even some Japanese were seen. Parking was a challenge and I wondered if the immediate residents have accepted the influx of bustle. There is only one narrow road that leads into this sector. The quality of food here was respectable, we had some spaghetti thing. The taste was surprisingly top notch. Next time I will try their fish & chips, they offer proper cod fish, not inferior dory. The construction of the cafe is a blend of timber and large glass facades analogous to Nordic homes. There are seating indoors and out surrounding a giant tree. The very large lawn has some good quality playground structures and kids were all over them even though the sun was high and fierce. Kids are immune to extreme temperatures, as long as there is play, they go. And we parents must endure their wet dog smell when they return to our table in a pile of sweat. If outdoor is not your kid’s thing, within the restaurant, they have a box of toys and games. Many toys were seen out on the many tables with children. Out under the sun, there were visitors strolling the compound posting contents non-stop to social media. At one quadrant, there is a landscape of plentiful shrubs and trees imbued with clear water streams that led from a waterfall. Entering Kenora, there was an entrance fee of THB 100 per person, but we could use that to offset our meals. This is to prevent people just coming in for pictures and not patronizing any food or drinks. To truly appreciate the place, for some quite time, we will have to be back on a weekday someday...
Read moreFound this place on Google maps and decided to give it a try. Place itself is down a Soi off Tiwanon Rd. Upon entering you're greeted with an A-frame building housing a cafe and restaurant. Outside is a large area offering different kinds of seating amongst a forest like park environment with all kinds of play equipment for kids including a big jungle Jim and a sandpit. Also near the back is a small stream with further options for seating etc. We ordered a honey soda, an iced Americano and some small chicken pieces. Cost 490 baht. Pretty expensive for the area but given the location it was probably justified. Coffee and honey soda was great. Chicken not great. Bland and no flavor. Clearly heated in a microwave and with a price of around 250 baht, that's disappointing. Come here if you've got smaller children cos they'll love it. It's likely we will return at some point but will be ordering drinks as opposed to food. 3/5...
