Revisited May 2025: 15 minutes wait even at 2 pm. I recommend their steak fried rice. Generous portion. Piccolo was nicely done.

Overall environment was good. Bright and clean and tidy.

Impressed by the menu selections. Over 50 beef/pork/seafood rice/pasta (no sandwich) to choose from. Since I finished half box of fatty crispy pork last night and still got another half box I need to finish tonight, I decided to stay away from their recommended spicy crispy pork, and went for the Miso pork.

Miso pork - excellent presentation. Portion was generous. The braised pork was really tender but perhaps gone to the extreme of being too lean. Adding a bit of belly fat would be perfect. Sauce lacked punch but could be good for those who had a milder palate. The egg was really really good though. Feels like a blend of fried and scrambled egg. Smooth but not watery with a thin layer of fried egg white.

Dirty needs improvement - milk not thick enough to “float” the espresso. The coffee ended up sinking too fast that I could only sip the milk. But even when I got to the bottom, the coffee also...

I had a nice Iced Americano. They have two beans to choose from which I thought was great. It’s not often you can choose the region from which your beans come from. All the coffee drinks are one price – 100฿. This is in the moderate to high range for coffee in Bangkok but at least they are serving good coffee. Unlike other who charge the high price and serve local coffee.

The seating is a little cramped inside on the ground floor. They have additional seating upstairs which was closed off when I was there. There’s also seating outside which was empty.

The location is quite far from public transport but good if you live in the Ekkamai area. It’s sits just off of Ekkamai Soi 12 tucked away in a nice little house. I walked from the BTS station and it took between 10-15 minutes. Friendly staff.

They close a bit early at 4:00 which may be a downer to some.

Atmosphere/Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cleanliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food/Drinks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

FOUR STARS (Excellent) Superior. Memorable, high-quality food/drinks; good service; value.

I went there last wk since a friend search for places for brunch. The place looks fine but the service there is ridiculously “poor”. I’ve ordered a drink and the guy didn’t key it in the other and at the same time another guy who works there was shutting out for me to move my car. I paid for the bill and waited. I got only the food and asked for my drink. The guy at the counter blamed me for not checking the bill that I haven’t paid for the drink when I’ve ordered it. So I have to re- ordered it. No apologize for not keying my orders it and the guy just stood there just looked so arrogant. It’s simply not worth the service charge.

Summary The food on the menu was half gone or not available after 1 pm The service extremely terrible, and they don’t care about their customers The parking space was only avail for around 8-10 cars and you have to move your car when the waiter shouts at you. They said there was a parking space nearby which I can park. The place was so noisy and crowded The food was very normal

Definitely the worse cafe I’ve visited!...

Ekkamai Macchiato is such a lovely spot — beautifully designed with a cozy, lush little garden outside that adds a refreshing touch. There are plenty of nice photo corners both inside and out. The food is excellent, with generous portions and great flavors. Highly recommend the American fried rice — the chicken and sausage are perfectly cooked, and the rice has a rich taste without being overloaded with sauce like at other places. It’s pleasantly dry and well-seasoned. The truffle fried rice with crispy pork is another standout — lightly fragrant with truffle and the pork is nicely crisp. One thing to note: the shop gets very busy after 9:30 AM, and you might feel a bit of pressure while eating as people start queueing and looking in, waiting for tables. So going early is a good idea if you want a more relaxed experience. Overall, a great place for both food and ambiance — just be prepared for the crowd!
