Kitty and I, along with a group of friends, were on a road trip through Thailand, making our way from Phuket to Krabi. E'san Story ร้านอาหารอีสานสตอรี่ was a perfect lunch stop along our route, and we were excited to experience the vibrant flavors and aromas of northeastern Thailand.
E'san Story is truly a haven for those seeking an authentic Isan culinary journey. Nestled along the road from Phuket to Krabi, this beautifully located restaurant has a spacious front porch that can accommodate all six of our motorcycles, which are all large bikes. It was a great place to park and stretch our legs after a long ride. The restaurant itself was cozy and simply decorated, which was perfect for escaping the hot sun. We enjoyed the cool interior and felt right at home.
The menu is brimming with classic favorites, each dish prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques passed down through generations. It's clear that the chefs at E'san Story take pride in their heritage and strive to preserve the true essence of Isan cooking.
We started with a selection of som tum (papaya salad), each with unique flavors and textures. We loved the som tum with fermented fish, the som tum with crab, and the som tum with grilled chicken. The larb (minced meat salad) was also amazing, with a perfect balance of spice and tanginess. We couldn't resist trying the gai yang (grilled chicken), which was incredibly juicy and flavorful. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully.
The service at E'san Story was also commendable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring we had a truly enjoyable dining experience. They were happy to explain the dishes and make recommendations, ensuring we had a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Read moreAuthentic Thai food with perfect balance of seasoning. We had lunch there (papaya salad, raw shrimp and boiled shrimp) and, after the first bites we knew that the dinner would also be there. The taste was amazing. At night we ordered the Tom yam soup with seafood, the grilled chicken, papaya salad and a sticky rice. All excellent. After about one month in Thailand this restaurant is safely in the top 3 of our gadtronomic experiences. The staff is also very friendly and the restaurant has a very pleasant view. My congratulations for the whole team, especially for the people on...
Read moreThe location has a nice view. Because we are not thai l guess, we were given a menu with about 10 options only. For an esan resraurant this is strange to have so little choice. Obviously there is a much bigger menu. No choice given to us to even use google translate on a Thai menu. The food itself was good/average. If you are looking for esan food as a tourist in phang nga just be aware you won't get the full menu here, so l can't recommend it. I don't think this shortened menu in english is good choice by...
