White Sand Beach has gained a reputation throughout the years as one of those spots to visit while in the Khao Lak area. Due to this reputation it is hard to find someone that visits Khao Lak and has not donned a motor scooter and headed over to check the place out. The beach is very nice and the location is quite beautiful. Traveling south along the beach you will wrap around to a peninsula known as cape Pakarang. Pakarang = coral in Thai and therefore Cape Coral is the direct translation. This is a nice area to explore often with little to no people around. The cape is ALL coral so not much grows there so ensure you bring your sun screen and water with you. Anyway back to White Sand. The area is highlighted by a large outdoor restaurant nestled in the trees directly off the beach. The view of the sea is really nice to see while you enjoy your lunch or dinner and maybe a few beverages. Now I said restaurant however, the place is more of a 'hang out' with many sun chairs and beautiful coral sand. The "hang out" area has seating for at least a couple hundred and is usually always bustling with activity during the high season. Directly next to the restaurant is the only true 5 star resort currently in the area ( the Sarojin) and there beach chairs are out in generally the same location creating a crowded, but happening feel in the area. The area is nice, the food is good, the beers are cold and there is usually lots of people if that is what you are...
Read moreWe come here for several years now. Never complained but this time there was no water in the bungalow for almost 3 days. They did not handle the situation well. Is it a problem of language ? No. Maybe a problem of embarrassement. But communication about the problem and/or solution was inexistant. Dear management, next time in case of a problem, COMMUNICATE ! Problem was finally solved but in 3 days you have thoughts and we thought several times to ask for our money back. But as I said we come here for several years now and we were patient. It's still a good place to stay in Khaolak. Situation is great and the place is quiet. Food is as expected and prices are average. The place is clean and some of the staff understand and manage to speak english. Wifi is all over the place and even...
Read moreGreat spot. I was really surprised and glad to have visited this lovely place and beach area. Sand is really beautiful, facilities were clean, parking lot, food was good, service was also good and I felt the waiters were genuinely friendly and not pushy at all. They have a beach area where you can rent beach chair(2) with umbrella for 150/day. If you want to eat, they also have this beautiful sandy area under the trees and palms where you sit to watch the ocean. I like that although the place was busy, it felt also quiet. We took a long walk along the beach and it was all clean and gorgeous. My only recommendation is that they should try to use reusable straws for their drinks since the single plastics are a huge problem in Thailand. Being green is...
