ร้านอาหารโบราณนิยม@เขาค้อ — Restaurant in Phetchabun Province

There are so many restaurants on this stretch of Khao Kho so popular with everyone and you don’t really know which is good and which is bad. Luck was on our side when we picked this restaurant, the food was awesome!!! The sinful three layer pork in fish sauce, exhilarating with every bite as the fatty juice oozes out and infuse with the sweet saltiness of the fish sauce in a kaleidoscope of flavors. Never had this before and it was love at first bite. A must if you are here. The fried salt pepper prawns was in all ways Chinese style cooked perfect, not many restaurants in Thailand can do that. And we had the Tilapia in fish sauce (I never get tired of fish sauce) which was equally exciting. Chunks of the fish chopped up and lightly battered, pre deep fired first before being doused in the Thai sauce. Tldr: Excellent food and service from the team. The pasta, fried rice, steak, pork chop and the dessert are all spectacular. Having been around the whole of Southeast Asia for food, this place definitely takes the hit for one of the better places around. The seafood used for the fried rice and the stir fry dishes are well prepared - one of the easiest test around is checking the grime from the mussels (where its being cleaned very well).

Service is great, as the crew helps to ensure your requests are being met. When the steak came too rare, they are very happy to help us cook it a little further. Also they are very attentive to what our dishes are and ensure that the desserts came out on time.

The atmosphere is awesome - helps that it is located in the Khao Kho region where the weather is pretty decent.

Definitely a must try for those craving western food...

The food is yummy! Love the decorations of the place. Feels good. Free WiFi. There's plenty of free parking available here. One of the issues we find us that the restaurant on Google map only shows the name in Thai. Was kind of difficult to find unless one has to copy and paste the thai name.

Food is really yummy. Had steak, chicken, and pork belly. The steak is very nice. The northern style chicken is very yummy too. The pork belly a little too fatty haha.

It seems to be popular because of the chef, but ironically our dishes were not cooked by the chef Tuang. So to me, it's kind of odd as the written board showed "enjoy your meal by chef Tuang Wangnai".

There were quite a few mosquitoes and we were bitten by a few. Otherwise the place is really nice. Will wanna...
