Baan Mr.Pok — Restaurant in Phetchaburi Province

Gotta say this was my favourite food of my trip to Thailand so far!

When we arrived Mr Pok greeted us and told us it would take an hour for food because there were other tables ahead of us. People need to realise that Mr Pok is the only server and his sister is the chef so food comes when it comes. We very much enjoyed this as the ambience and setting feels really authentically Thai. Maybe if we all lived at Mr Pok’s pace of life then we would all be a little happier!

When the food arrived (and it was exactly an hour) it was perfect. I don’t mind waiting for food when it was clearly cooked freshly to order and with such care and love as it was. We had Pad Thai and Chicken Massaman and they were served piping hot (perfect) and delicious. My compliments to Mr Pok’s sister!

On top of being delicious it was also very cheap! Our bill with drinks was under 500thb (we paid almost as much in the tip because it was so good).

If I was staying at the Veranda again I would probably eat most of my meals...

During our trip to Thailand, we were lucky enough to discover a true hidden gem of a restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed by the amazing owner – Mr. Pok. A genuine, kind, and incredibly hospitable person who truly takes pride in taking care of his guests.

We visited the restaurant several times during our stay, and each time we were just as impressed by the food. The flavors were pure, authentic, and made with love – you could taste it in every bite. But what really made the experience special was the atmosphere and the personal service. Mr. Pok took the time to talk with us, even sharing stories about his journey to Sweden, and made each visit something truly extraordinary.

It’s rare to find a place where you feel so at home and welcomed. We truly hope we’ll have the chance to return someday – not just for the food, but also to see Mr. Pok again.

I cannot believe how cheap this restaurant is and how good quality the food is the portion sizes are really good too everything down to the wine is cheap (100 bhat a glass you will not find that anywhere else) Mr Pok is a great host the first thing he asks is where you have travelled from and if you need help getting back to your hotel he is a great host. Lovely little garden setting and great Thai food we tried four dishes we originally wanted to order five but Mr Pok instead of just taking the money said to us this will be too many don't order so much who else does this! Well worth the journey we stayed around okm away but really easy access with a taxi I definitely recommend you try here. Keep up the great work Mr Pok also he gave us free mango from his tree at the end what a lovely thing to finish...
