I stayed in the area for a week with my wife for a late honeymoon. We ate here every day (usually twice).
In no universe do I exaggerate when I say this is the some of the best food I've ever eaten to my memory. At a small fraction of the price, this place is on par with (if not better than) most of the Michelin star restaurants I have eaten at-- and this place is certainly worthy of one.
Not only do they have masterfully crafted authentic Thai dishes of styles from all over the country, but also some absolutely delectable Indian dishes as well. There's plenty of consumable bliss to pick from including some really delicious cocktails that are served after 6pm.
The staff are incredibly friendly, as are the owners. There are times where the restraunt is very busy, and as other reviews have mentioned, the food make take a while to come out, and may not come out in the order you were expecting.
It doesn't matter. Be patient.
I would sleep on the side of the road and wait in an 8 hour line just to eat this food. I would cannonball into a shallow pool full of sea urchins if I needed to. I would do whatever it takes to be able to bless my mouth with a small piece of heaven.
And you should too.
Or, you can go somewhere else and get a comparitively mediocre meal. And I say that as an increased compliment, because the other places around are pretty good as well. But you will be missing out.
Anyway, here are a few items I got that I recommend: -Pinapple Fried Rice -Baked Young Coconut -Panang Curry -Papaya Salad -Mango and Sticky Rice -Seafood Soup
Oh, and I should add that there is a ton of comfortable seating on the beach to eat at, making for a very relaxing environment (though soon you won't be aware of the environment because you will be too focused on your soul ascending from your body)
TLDR: you NEED to try this food, it's the best in...
Read moreI have been staying at 'Nice home stay', which is also run by Noi - normally, I would go exploring for meals, which I did the first night, however after having the delicious dumplings with my morning coffee on the second day, I saw so many more things on the menu that I wanted to try! Every single thing I've had so far has been absolutely delicious (ah roi mak!) The prices are extremely reasonable, for both food, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. There are many options on the menu, and you can also mix and match by ordering from the restaurant next door, should you and your friends differ on tastes! Service is always with a smile, and the relaxed feel you get, sitting on the beach listening to the waves and the birds calling to each other leaves you sabai sabai ð Highly recommend both the restaurant and accommodation to anyone looking to visit Sam roi yot. Noi can even give you great pointers on where to visit, and the best transport options. Thank you for the lovely meals! I can't wait to come back and...
Read moreI recently visited this beachside restaurant and had an overall pleasant experience. The food was good, though not exceptionalâit met expectations but didn't quite stand out. The service, however, was slower than expected, even around 4 pm, which was a bit of a letdown.
One of the highlights was the seating, which offered great views of the beach. Itâs a nice spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. That said, thereâs a small issue with plastic wrap around the utensils. The wind easily carried them away after use, which can be a bit frustrating. A small trash can for used items, like tissues or plastic wraps, would be a simple fix to prevent this from happening.
Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend it for a laid-back meal...
