Rak Talay Hua Hin Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

We are staying at the Wora Bura in Hua Hin, therefore, we eat here almost every day. We love the taste of the food and find the price fair. The service staff is very friendly, however the wait times are seriously long. On Saturday, we waited over an hour for our drinks to arrive and even though we were there with little kids, we were the last ones to receive our food, way after our kids would usually go to bed. We waited almost 2 hours for our food. Yesterday we sat down at 6:30 PM and repeatedly asked the waiter if we could please order because we had our little kids with us so that we could get them to bed because they were tired. He kept telling us he will be with us any second. At 7:10 PM I got up to order, because I didn’t want to wait any longer. I am usually not at all like this and understand wait times. However, there were only 16 people at the restaurant, three tables (but we shared a table with another couple) and I work in service and usually do this amount of people on my own, while they were three people working! I don’t mind that food arrives at different times, I get that this seems to be normal for Thailand and I respect that. However it took almost an hour to order the food and when we ordered we were told we couldn’t have what we wanted because they sold out. Then we got one order twice and we told them we only ordered it once (the second portion came after the first one was almost finished). My husband’s fries came after he had long finished his wings and when he got up to ask for his fries, the head waiter (or at least he acted like it) just rolled his eyes! My husband couldn’t see because he was behind the waiter but the waiter was facing me… then we all finished our meals but were still waiting for my mom’s food… so my husband got up to ask and it seemed that they didn’t even put in the order! I left the restaurant at 8:30 PM with my kids because they were overdue for bed and my husband and mom stayed longer to...

The location near the beach and convenience of having a restaurant at the hotel are positives, but this restaurant just keeps disappointing. We have been here three times, and it boils down to poor service. The personnel feels unavailable and you have to make an effort to get their attention. Also, they aren’t very service minded and attentitive, and they don’t seem to enjoy working there. It is also very pricy here. One side dish of French fries costs 200 bath. The Thai food is good, but the international choices are not. Would not recommend. Terrible. Not tasty, prices are very high, they will charge you for service and taxes. So add another 17% to the price of the dishes you choose.
