Baan Nam Cha is probably my favourite cafe/restaurant anywhere in this world. The place itself is situated a few min walk from long beach, Aow Yai beach opposite the little “minimart”. Hard to miss, the artsy restaurant includes a treehouse and little bamboo hut with hammocks and lots of cozy seating. Everything in this place seems to be homemade! Freshly made bread and homemade yogurt + musli made me want to come here for breakfast every day. The large menu has enough to offer for any hunger from salads, vegetarian Burger, Burmese food and outstanding Burmese salads (I recommend the tea leaf salad, very special and delicious), homemade potato & pumpkin fries, cakes, fresh juices, homemade lemonades (I recommend lime & mint lemonade), coffees & teas and soo much more. The place also includes a library, a bar for alcoholic drinks and a little shop with second hand clothes and other things for sale. So if you feel like having a relaxed morning/afternoon with good vibes, Baan Nam Cha is the perfect place to...
Read moreIt is by far the most wonderful place to chill and have delicious food. They have very broad menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, mostly vegetarian (all easily adjusted for vegans). Lots of filling salads, Burmese food, veggie burgers, pasta, wraps, panini..and others. Good variety of teas and smoothies. They bake their own delicious bread and make cakes, often offer special menu for dinner serving big sampling platters from other cuisines. If you want to take a break from the beach, you can just chill in the hammock or lie down, read books from the library, play with the dogs, give cuddles to the cat, listen to good music, shop for quirky clothes and jewelry, or have a lovely chat with the owner - Jessica. The place is beautifully decorated with lots of colorful cushions, hangings, lights and art made by the owner. The atmosphere is really warm and friendly and food is served with love. Oh..and the cocktails are good too! Gin fizz is my...
Read moreVery disappointing experience given the reviews on Google. We ordered a burger, sandwich and chips which took 90mins to arrive to the table. I was quite astonished at how long it took to make such basic dishes! Not only that, our chips arrived another 15 mins later. The larb burger was more like a sandwich as served with bread rather than a bun. Taste was quite average and didn't have spicy flavours I was expecting from description on menu. My partners tufo sandwich was OK but quite oily. The 2 young western waitresses didn't seem to do much other than stand around and look pretty. They should be at least helping the cooks with some prep or cleaning the place. Our table was very dirty with an old joint butt left from a previous customer. A meal for 2 cost us 450 baht which is extremely low value for money considering the service, cleanliness and quality...
