We ate at this restaurant at least once everyday while on The island. An extensive menu of western foods and also Thai foods is quite something!! To make the order it could be a little confusing the first time but don't worry, just make the orders with the service staff who will make sure you get what you want. After 1 visit you will easily understand the order system and make your own orders. We ate everything from English brekky to fruit salads with homemade youghrts to home made cashew peanut butter on toast and Thai foods to. Everything we ordered was tasty, a good portion size and nicely presented. The majority of items are made by the restaurant so are rustic and tasty. I loved the bread, full of seeds unlike plain white breads you get in other restaurants. A selection of coffees, plain to flavoured varietys, choice of hot/iced or shakes the list goes on and on, you will not believe the variety on offer! Being a vegetarian for over 20yrs I think this has been the largest vegetarian and varied drinks menu I have ever come across! The restaurant is separated into 2 area's, the area where the kitchen is the non smoking area and the area across the road is for smokers, a great idea especially for non smokers!! Tables and chairs are basic but still comfy yet retaining that relaxed vibe. Service was super friendly and attentive when needed, even having a laugh and joke, as we went so often we could even have a laugh with the chefs. The owners are usually around to have a chat, answer some questions or again have a laugh with you. I was told the lady owner is a yoga teacher so if you are Looking for somewhere to start you could may be break a conversation on this... Quick Wi-Fi is available. Rated No1 on TA and in my mind correctly so! This place is one of the few things I will miss about being on...

The place itself is heartwarming, fun and welcoming, with comfy cushions, low and high tables, witty personal growth sentences everywhere, and Charmaine is the stereotype of a caring and motherly innkeeper.

But the real catch at Cha-Chai is the menu. Dozens of pages of delightful-yummy-tasty vegetarian dishes, almost all of them available for vegans too. All of these meals are incredibly tasty and satisfying. Yes, I CAN afford to say ALL of them, because I tried them all (okay, maybe 90%). Remember the big lock down of March 2020? Well, I stayed 3 months stranded on Koh Phayam, and I ate at Cha-Chai every. single. day!

Never got bored of all these delicious vegan breakfast bowls, with fresh local fruit and healthy super foods, the amazing Thai curries, the crispy fake duck tortillas, the soft vegetarian cheeseburgers, the countless types of desserts and of course all the crazy drinks - fruit shakes, coffees and chocolates with coconut milk and crunchy cocoa nibs, or cocktails for the festive evenings...

Three months of this amazing diet, and, after a short rehab, I was left with the same skinny body I arrived on Phayam with.

In conclusion, Cha-Chai Home did not make me live the dream per se, but it definitely fed the dream all over these beautiful weeks, during these strange times lost on a little island of the...

This is the best Restaurant you will find on Koh Phayam. Cha-Chai moved to a new location but the concept and quality remained the same. It’s the second time we are on the island, first mission was to find our favorite restaurant.

The menu offers almost anything you could ask for except meat. For meat eaters there are alternatives from chicken like to veg sausages. An open view into the kitchen will tell you That things are different in this place, everything is clean and organized. From breakfast to dinner the dishes are just fabulous. All ingredients do look and taste fresh. Take some time to explore the huge menu. And don’t hesitate to ask for spicy chill sause, cause most of the food will not be spicy. Dessert recommendation is the Banofi ice cream sandwich, two Rotis in the middle homemade icrecream with crashed bananas, caramel and roasted nuts. Unbelievable!!! Also the cakes are just stunning.

Please take the time to visit this place if you are on the island. The whole staff is very friendly and does speak decent English. You will not...

Super nice vegetarian/vegan restaurant with delicious food! Some curries have shrimp paste unless you order them without. It's a little bit pricey especially in comparison to the mainland - everything's more expensive on an island though - main dishes mostly between 90 (curry with vegetables, no rice) and 150 Baht (for one of the flat breads you can see on the photos) but you're tempted to have extras to your dishes - they have delicious homemade sauces for example. It's definitely worth it - at least one time if you generally don't want to spend too much on food - because the variety is huge and absolutely tasty!!
