Fish Bar — Restaurant in Rayong Province

Bad thing happened with tom kha soup - one mussel was bitter after I chewed it, bitter not like a lemon, like it was not good and fresh. Manager asked all the time “what can i do for you” without any suggestions (i was pleased with his tone but not words). When i asked him what will we do if i will get my stomach ill he answered “let’s see”. Terrible advice as i see, nothing but terrible. Okay, let see will i die or not. For my perception i should get big dish of fruits and vegetables at my room if i stayed at Marriott hotel and payed for my safe and cool living there. It called “fishbar” - no “fish” atmosphere, only “bar”. It does not deserve to called “fish”. Menu is the same like in restaurant nearby, just shorter at all with no difference. A decent Thai seafood restaurant with fresh ingredients. However, the seasoning could be somewhat more authentic. But most importantly, the staff needs to be trained better because one staff handed the lunch menu at 5pm and then said "we still serve them". Then when we order one item from this menu it took hours to come out and another staff said that because it's the lunch menu. Perhaps they should communicate internally and decide what to serve first? Moreover, a staff, possibly a trainee, called Evian Mineral Water "Minere", which is a lower brand of mineral water. And when we asked I thought you said it's Minere, she said this is Evian Minere. Please train your staff better or send her to an English course before working at a 5...

The fish bar at Marriott Rayong is a pleasant place to eat. The service is very good and you can go there with the electric caddy and pick up again.

The food is very lovingly decorated and is of high quality. We had carved both authentic Thaifood and a decent Australian T-bone on the bone - unfortunately the steak was not prepared properly on charcoal or at least on a professional gas grill, which significantly clouded the overall result - especially at the very high fat level.

@ the chef: With such valuable food you have to cook accordingly high quality - such a steak deserves a real barbecue and the guest also 100% of the possible taste!

For this I unfortunately have to deduct a whole star!

The Fish Bar closes already at 10PM, here can be paid by card. Absolutely note, if you come from the condo there is another 20% discount, but unfortunately we were not referred to this ...

Die Fish Bar im Marriott Rayong ist ein angenehmer Ort um Essen zu gehen. Der Service ist sehr gut und man kann sich mit dem Elektro-Caddy dort hinbringen und auch wieder abholen lassen.

Das Essen wird sehr liebevoll dekoriert und ist von hoher Qualität. Wir hatten sowohl authentischen Thaifood als auch ein ordentliches australische T-Bone am Knochen tranchiert - leider wurde das Steak nicht standesgemäß auf Holzkohle oder mindestens auf einem professionellen Gasgrill zubereitet, was das Gesamtergebnis - insbesondere beim recht hohen Fettanteil -erheblich trübte.

@den Koch: Mit so wertvollen Speisen muss man auch entsprechend hochwertig kochen - ein solches Steak hat einen echten Grill verdient und der Gast auch 100% des möglichen Geschmacks!

Hierfür muss ich dann leider auch einen ganzen Stern abziehen!

Die Fish Bar schließt bereits um 10PM, hier kann mit Karte gezahlt werden. Unbedingt beachten, kommt man aus den Condos gibt es nochmal 20% Rabatt, aber leider wurden wir hierauf nicht hingewiesen...
