Masala Rayong Indian & Muslim Food — Restaurant in Rayong Province

I kind of expected that this restaurant would be good when I drove past and saw it but it exceeded my expectations by a long way. It starts with the hospitality and just gets better from there. I'm confident to say that the beef curry I had there was the best I've ever ate in Thailand. I ordered the excellent naan bread to accompany it. I was asked in perfect English how spicy or not I would like my curry and it was perfect. The beef was very tender and a generous sized portion for not a lot of money. They have a huge selection of wagyu steak cuts in their glass cold fridges with the size and price on display. Should you wish you can have it cooked to your choice for a small extra fee. Prices on display were cheap relatively speaking. This is a family owned and ran hands on business. The two brothers learnt their cooking skills at the famous Dusit Thani and one of the brothers also learning his skills at the Ritz Carlton in Florida USA. Perfect English, very professional and knowledgeable about food. . Also had two great coffee's here and will return. Highly recommended! *Edit. I returned for brunch to try their beef satay. I expected it to be good but it was fantastic! Best beef satay I've ever tried in Thailand ( I've tried plenty) and can't speak highly enough of the taste and quality. Sauce was very flavoursome and a family recipe, the beef was very tender and the portion size very good. Price for the quality is cheap. If I lived in Rayong I'd probably eat here 3 or 4...

Masala in Rayong is the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Nothing in all of Thailand tasted as good as there. My partner and I would have gone there every day if we could, not only because the food was amazing, but also because the owners were always extremely friendly, considerate, and such kind people. The food always came quickly, and it was really clean, which I can say with confidence because I have a very sensitive stomach. Also, I’m very sensitive when it comes to meat and can hardly eat it anywhere. That’s why I was even happier with the incredibly delicious and clean meat at Masala. It was so good, I’ve never had such amazing meat before. The atmosphere was very relaxing and peaceful. At Masala, we could always unwind and just enjoy. We wish we could have this place with its food in Germany 🥰. The Masala family is what we will miss the most...

ความอยากกินโรตีแกงได้พาเรากลับมาที่ร้านนี้อีกครั้งนึง เป็นร้านที่ต้องตั้งใจมาเท่านั้น ไม่ใช่ทางผ่านใดๆ แล้วร้านนี้ก็ไม่เคยทำให้ผิดหวัง... แกงกุรุม่าแพะที่สั่งมาคู่กับโรตี ดูในรูปอาจจะเหมือน...ถ้วยเล็กนิดเดียว (ขอบอกว่าตอนแรกก็แอบคิดแบบนั้นเหมือนกัน 😁) แต่พอตักขึ้นมาเท่านั้น มีแต่เนื้อแพะ! แล้วแพะนุ่มเปื่อยจนหลุดจากกระดูกเลยค่ะ ไม่มีกลิ่นกวนใจ รสชาดเข้มข้นและจะแอบเปรี้ยวๆตอนท้าย สดชื่นสุดๆ จานถัดมาเป็น ชัปปลีกาบับเนื้อ เป็นจานเก็บตก รอบที่แล้วมาไม่ได้สั่ง ขอบอกว่า จานนี้... ว้าวมากๆๆๆ กลิ่นหอมตั้งแต่ยกมาเสิร์ฟเลย แถมรสชาดก็อร่อยมากๆ ตอนกินขอให้บีบมะนาวลงบนเนื้อด้วย เด็ดเลย ไม่ควรพลาดนะคะจานนี้ อีกจานที่ไม่พูดถึงไม่ได้ คือ ลิ้นแดดเดียวทอด ทางร้านใช้ทั้งลิ้นมาหมัก แล้วแดดเดียว ก่อนจะนำมาทอด รสชาดจะเข้มข้นเลย อร่อยทั้งจิ้มและไม่จิ้มกับน้ำจิ้มแจ่ว บอกก่อนนะคะ ด้วยความที่มาทั้งลิ้น เพราะฉะนั้นจะมีทั้งส่วนโคนลิ้นซึ่งจะต้องออกแรงเคี้ยวนิดนึง, ปลายลิ้นที่นุ่มๆ และตรงกลางที่เหมือน al dente 😄 แนะนำให้ทานคละๆกัน จะได้หลายๆ texture ในคำเดียวค่ะ ส่วนข้าวผัดมันเนื้อไข่ดอง มันเป็นตำนานของร้านนี้ไปแล้ว สั่งกันทุกโต๊ะ คงไม่ต้องรีวิวกันมากค่ะ ส่วนใครอยากทานสเต็กแบบเลือกส่วนเนื้อเอง ราคาน่ารักๆ ก็เชิญได้ที่ตู้แช่เลยค่ะ ทางร้านเค้าเป็น butcher เอง ไว้ใจได้ค่ะ สรุป... ใครอยากทานอาหาร halal แบบที่ไม่ต้องลุ้นว่าจะอร่อยรึป่าว ราคาดี บรรยากาศ privateๆ เชิญร้านนี้ได้เลยค่ะ...
