Rustico Salaya Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Sala Thammasop Subdistrict

You would come in as this place has the most positive review compare with the nearby Italian places. The prices were quite affordable, especially considering the quality of the food. The pizza, with its thin crust style, was delicious and the steak was well-prepared with a generous portion. The owner of the restaurant served us and it was nice to see that he could speak both Thai and English. It showed a level of dedication to his customers and made communication much easier. The restaurant seemed to be popular among locals, as there were many regulars dining in during our visit. Their tiramisu was a standout dessert. It differed from other places I've tried as it had lots of whipped cream, almost resembling ice cream.

However, there was one disappointing aspect to our meal - the risotto. We found it to be overcooked and resembling more of a mushy congee than the firm and creamy risotto we were expecting. When we brought this to the owner's attention, he explained that this was the style of risotto served at the restaurant. He mentioned it should still have some firmness but was unable to explain why our dish was overly mushy. We decided not to accept the dish after just one bite and respect the owner's decision to serve it that way.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was hesitated to prepare a new one for us due to the high customer volume. We understand that cooking risotto takes time, but it was disheartening to not have a proper replacement or reasonable explain. Since we still enjoyed the rest of the meal, we informed the owner that he could charge us for the risotto as he keep insisted that is not mushy/that’s the right “firm to bite texture”, despite us not accepting it.

However, the owner's attitude towards us changed after that point. As we left the restaurant, he seemed to give us an ignoring attitude, not bothering to say thank you or goodbye. It gave us the impression that he didn't care about customer satisfaction. It was just a 330 Baht risotto. For this reason, I have to give this place a one-star rating. It's not because of the food, which was generally good, but due to the disrespectful service we received. วันที่เราไปใช้บริการเป็นวันหยุด และเป็นวันเกิดน้องเรา ซึ่งน้องอยากกินอาหารอิตาเลียน เลยลองมาร้านนี้ดูเพราะร้านประจำ ติดจองเต็ม

ไปแล้วรู้สึกเหมือน เจ้าของร้านอยากรับแต่ต่างชาติเลยค่ะ เริ่มจาก

ที่นั่ง❌ ในร้านมีอยู่ประมาณ 10 กว่าโต๊ะ มีคนต่างชาตินั่งอยู่แล้ว 1 โต๊ะ เราเลือกที่นั่งโซนโซฟาริมสุดเพราะมีที่นั่งกว้าง ดูนั่งสบาย (โซนโซฟามีอยู่ประมาณ 4 โต๊ะ เรียงติดกัน โต๊ะข้างเราเป็นโต๊ะเปล่าไม่มีจานวางอยู่ ถัดไปถึงจะมี ในร้านมีโต๊ะเปล่าประมาณ 2 โต๊ะที่ไม่มีจานวาง) แต่พอนั่งแล้วรู้สึกแอร์ลง ซึ่งแม่เป็นหวัดอยู่เลยเขยิบไปโต๊ะเปล่าข้างๆ

ระหว่างกำลังเขยิบ เจ้าของร้านต่างชาติ ที่พูดไทยได้ก็เดินปรี่เข้ามาบอกเสียงดังว่า โต๊ะนั้นนั่งไม่ได้! ย้ายทำไม โต๊ะนั้นนั่งไม่ได้ คุณย้ายทำไม เราเลยบอกว่าแอร์มันลง เค้าก็บอกว่างั้นทำไมไม่นั่งตรงนี้ หรือตรงนี้ (ชี้ไปโต๊ะอื่นที่ว่าง) ก็โอเคงั้นย้ายไปโต๊ะธรรมดาไม่โซฟา แต่เค้าไม่ได้บอกนะว่าทำไมนั่งไม่ได้

*ตอนนี้ก็รู้สึกไม่ค่อยดีแล้วค่ะ ส่วนตัวปกติไปกินร้านคนไทย ที่ราคาประมาณนี้ไม่เคยเจอคนพูดเสียงแบบนี้ใส่เลย ค่ะเพราะร้านระดับนี้ส่วนมากมีมารยาท เราเลยไม่รู้ว่าเป็นเรื่องวัฒธรรมรึเปล่านะคะ เพราะทางร้านเองก็ไม่อธิบายว่าทำไมนั่งไม่ได้ หรือเว้นที่ไว้เพราะมีคนจอง? หรือเป็นการถือเคล็ด เว้นที่ให้ผีบรรพบุรุษแบบต้องมีที่ว่างไว้?

แล้วถ้านั่งไม่ได้ทำไมไม่เอาป้ายตั้งไว้คะ? ว่าจองหรืออะไรก็ได้ แต่โอเค เราก็ไม่ได้ถามก่อน แต่ที่ไม่ได้ถามเพราะร้านไม่ได้มีพนักงานมายืนให้เห็นแบบที่เราจะถามด้วยเห็นมีคนเสริฟแค่คนเดียว ซึ่งบางทีน้องก็ต้องไปทำอย่างอื่น ส่วนเจ้าของก็นั่งอยู่หลังเคาเตอร์

การให้คะแนะนำ❌ ช่วงสั่งอาหาร น้องเราอยากลองริซอตโต้เพราะไม่เคยลอง ทางร้านมีอยู่ 4 ชนิด ทะเล/หอยเชลล์/ไส้กรอก/เห็ด เราเลยถามเค้าว่า มีแนะนำไหมคะ? เค้าก็ส่ายหัวแล้วบอกว่า อร่อยทุกอย่าง ถ้าอยากกินทะเลก็มีซีฟู้ดกับหอยเชลล์ ถ้าอยากกินหมูก็ไส้กรอก ถ้าอยากกินเห็ดก็มีเห็ด ....บอกตามตรงว่าที่พูดมาไม่ได้เป็นประโยชน์เลยค่ะ 🙂อย่างน้อยบอกว่าคนส่วนมากมาแล้วสั่งอะไรก็ได้ เพราะเราจะสั่งหรือไม่สั่งตาม เราก็จะตัดสินเอง ถ้ามีที่อยากกินอยู่แล้วคงไม่ถาม

อาหาร✅❌ สั่งมา 5 อย่าง 1.ซุปหัวหอม (150) - อร่อยมากค่ะอันนี้ไม่มีที่ติ กินแล้วลื่นคอ หัวหอมเคี่ยวมาโอเคนื้อเยอะ ไม่ใสจนเกินไป

2.ขนมปังสไดล์กับพาร์ม่าแฮม 4 Pc (220) - ส่วนตัวคิดว่าเมนูนี้แพงไปหน่อย แต่เข้าใจว่าเป็นพาร์ม่าแฮม แต่กลิ่นชีสหรือเนยบนขนมปังไม่ออกเลย มีแต่กลิ่นแฮม

3.ลาซ่านญ่าหมู (260) - อันนี้ผิดหวังมาก เพราะไม่มีกลิ่นหอมของชีสเลย ชีสน้อยเช่นกัน แป้งลาซานญ่าทำมาหนามากกก ได้แต่รสแป้ง เคยไปกินร้านอื่นที่ราคาใกล้กันให้ชีสมาท่วมจาน หอมมาก อันนี้ธรรมดาสุดๆ

4.สตูว์เนื้อกับมันฝรั่งบด (330) - ถือว่าทำได้หอมเครื่องเทศ น้ำซุปเคี้ยวโอเค แต่เนื้อเหนียวแบบเคี้ยวเมื่อยกราม

5.ริซอตโต้หอยเชลล์ (330) - ไม่ได้กลิ่นของความทะเลจากหอยเลย รู้สึกแปลกๆ เคยไปกินร้านดังที่พัทยามันให้ความรู้สึกหอมทะเลจากหอยและชีสนัวกว่านี้

สรุป🫠 ที่ดีก็ชมค่ะ แต่รวมๆ คิดว่าอาหารค่อนข้างเพลนๆ ไม่ได้มีอะไรโดดเด่นเลยถ้าถ้าเทียบกับราคา และระหว่างที่กิน เจ้าของก็ไอตลอด ไม่รู้ว่าป่วยหรือคอแห้ง แต่ถ้าไอบ่อยขนาดนั้นใส่มาร์สเถอะค่ะ ในฐานะเจ้าของร้านอาหารมันดูไม่สะอาดเลย

🙂‍↕️ เรากลับกันออกมา ทั้งบ้านรู้สึกไม่ดีค่ะ มารยาทเจ้าของก็ไม่ได้เป็นมิตร อาหารก็เฉยๆ ถ้าจะบอกว่าวัฒนธรรมอิตาเลียนเป็นอย่างนี้ ก็ไม่รู้เหมือนกันนะ ที่นี่ประเทศไทย คงไม่ไปกินอีก...

Visited solo on a Saturday night. Was waited on by Paulo, the owner. Very nice gentleman who served up a fresh, delicious Rustico Salad that was generous and delicious. A beautiful variety of greens complimented by fresh vegetables and two kinds of tomato. The dressing was a delightful and delectable surprise, with a hint of Dijon mustard spicing the oil and vinegar. Wonderful.

For my main course I ordered the risotto with mushrooms. It was again a healthy portion, piping hot, and literally every bite of this buttery, savory dish had mushrooms present. The risotto was nicely done, but not mushy. Italian comfort food at its best. Kudos for really delivering on the fresh ingredients and being generous with portions.

Service was excellent. Relaxed, not rushed. Friendly, not invasive. Atmosphere is nice and open. Tables not too close together. Nice view of the street outside. "Rustico" in the best sense. Not pretentious, but homey. Very...
