Edit: I gave a 1 star review while I was still in this place... and regardless of what the owner may try to say to save face, people can attest by my 300+ reviews and local guide status, that I only give 1 star reviews in extreme cases. I would downgrade my 1 star review to a zero star review if I could, because after my initial 1 star review (while still in this place), some guy suddenly "came to talk" a an aggressive and threatening fashion... "so... you gave me a 1 star review, huh?" "Not happy? Must hate this world!" and kept going on rambling until it started sounding like he was picking a fight... regardless of what the owner says (obviously). I crossed Bangkok to try this coffee shop, because judging by the photos, it would meet my expectations. It didn't and I was disappointed, hence my honest review.
a) I saw a cat in the pictures, but all that I found upon arrival was a fake stuffed animal at the entrance trying to look real. When I looked at it for a few seconds and touched it, the staff started to laugh at my situation. Later I learned that there is actually one cat "so you want to see a cat, huh?! here's a cat!" (while leaning against a pillar in a defiant manner and calling out the cat from somewhere)... Should have asked politely if we could improve the review... assumed that the bad review was solely because of not having a cat. With or without cat, having staff laughing at clients is not very pleasant. It looks as the fake cat is put there for them to laugh and to prank new clients... I admit it may not be true, but it certainly looked like!
b) Location is poor, literally in the middle of nowhere along the road. I took a taxi to go there, but my review for location is also not good. There's limited space regardless of having 2 floors, decoration is nice but I didn't felt comfortable as compared to other places.
c) The menu has a poor selection. There is a reasonable quantity of soft drinks and even vodka... but the flavours and menu, is not of my taste. At least there was green tea latte...
d) I ordered a green tea latte without sugar... on the first sip, I tasted green tea bitter paste in my mouth. Somebody forgot to mix the latte properly, hence taste wise I cannot be positive about it. To be fair though, presentation was nice... but this is Bangkok, so the coffee shop businesses have to go beyond presentation to captivate customers.
People may like to chill out there if you are in the area, but regardless of having high expectations, my experience here was extremely negative. First time I was treated this way in many years... but even without someone coming to pick a fight, I would still rate this place badly. Certainly no more...
Read moreJust walked into the place and the cashier was an extremely racist individual. Asked for hot chocolate, and he proceeds to process my order. Then as I’m quite energetic and happy, he completely switches and gets Super-Racist on me, denies me service and asks me to get out. Extremely disappointed in the whole experience. Won’t be going there again. I’d advise people to stay away.... And, as you can see from the reply below, shows absolutely zero remorse for his pathetically unprofessional conduct. At least I have parents who raised me well...to not stoop as low as insinuating or mistaking genuine happiness for fake appearances and hollow agendas. You should be ashamed of yourself. Fortunately, I know this awesome country and people aren’t fully represented by hopeless excuses of human beings such as you. You may think you can exploit and humiliate people of color, but be warned: you will reap what you sow. Again: what sinister agenda are you referring to? In the late evening?? You need to learn some real English for one, proper customer service etiquette for two....and respect. look at yourself in the mirror and wonder: did you do your Family, people and country proud by behaving in such a manner? Towards a guest of your country who wasn’t abusive in any way, shape or form? Seeing as you have time to read and reply to real reviews of your sadly lacking...
Read moreDisregard the reviews of 1 star, for I do not believe them to represent this shop at all.
From my own experience, the gentleman who was serving the drinks was a kind, polite individual. I got mellow vibes from the guy. The shop itself is nice, in that there is nice decor, plenty of spots to sit down at, and comfortable seating as well.
The drinks are very tasty and well priced as well. For example, for 150THB I got a fairly large sized caramel coffee with ice cream scoops in it. Very, very tasty. They also offer alcoholic drinks, for which I shall be returning sometime in the future.
Again, the shop is nice with three levels of seating. The second floor may get hot sometimes in the afternoon, as mentioned in another review, however I sat up there in the afternoon to check it out and the air conditioning was on. Perhaps a matter of chance.
Also, one last thing, there IS a cat there. If you’re allergic, I’m sorry this probably is the best option for you. If you’re not allergic, awesome, there’s a cat. I also noticed a cat decoration (a fake cat) but it was away from the door. Perhaps the owner read one of those one star reviews and moved it to avoid...
