Banrimnam Mahachai — Restaurant in Samut Sakhon Province

We drove here after stopping at Maeklong railway market and we were very impressed by the food, service and also the atmosphere of the restaurant.

The menu was written in Thai and English and the food was delicious. Very fresh and flavorful and the portion sizes were great. We ordered four dishes to share between three and none of us left feeling hungry.

The servers were fast and considerate, too. We ordered a spicy squid dish and the server brought out a tub of the paste they use so we could smell it and check it was what we wanted/could handle spice wise. I thought that was a very thoughtful gesture (turned out to be very spicy but so, so good!)

The area was very quiet and relaxed, the restaurant was very open but there was a breeze coming in from the river and with many fans scattered around the seating area felt very cool and comfortable. Incredibly relaxing, especially after a busy morning exploring. There were lovely flowers and hanging plants as well as many wind chimes made of shells decorating the restaurant. The toilets were old but they were immaculately clean and that’s something I noticed about the restaurant itself - very clean, despite being open to the elements. I think the staff and owners really take care of it, as well as their customers.

All in all, It was a very calming restaurant and a very tranquil lunch experience and I’m pleased we ate there.

Restaurant located by the fishing village on the river , average food , small portion sizes . Having been a Thai restaurant owner for 3 decades couldn't see any value at eating at this restaurant . Morning glory was 100 baht but the portion was so small it was alarming considering it is the cheapest easy to find vegetable on the Thai market .
