Very disappointed with this place after seeing all the nice reviews. Was looking forward to a good meal here as we are staying very close. We ordered the “fresh” fruit juices, more like freshly poured from the carton. I literally watched them pour it from the carton. Inexcusable for a Thailand beach restaurant. I could understand this at a bar slinging drinks to drunk Europeans but there is no reason to not be serving fresh fruit. This is the first time I’ve experienced this in multiple visits to Thailand. Also, a lot of places are guilty of trying to cater to everyone’s tastes but why have such an extensive menu? Thai food is amazing. If I want spaghetti I’ll go to Italy. Be yourself. If you can’t make fresh fruit juice like almost every other establishment in this country is doing how can you be trusted to cook a menu more suited for 3-4 different restaurants. Do better. Maybe we’ll try again next time. Service was good but the lack of a crowd in low season makes it awkward for this over staffed establishment. Edit: their reply shows the disconnect of the owners and their base. I didn’t have a one off bad experience at their restaurant. The restaurant is just a lazy representation of what Thailand is. They obviously only saw the star and didn’t read...

Hug Samui is truly the hidden gem of the island. They serve authentic local Thai cuisines at affordable prices and the restaurant has a great beach side ambiance. There is also a bar so you get to enjoy cocktails and other alcohol by the beach.

I love the fact that the staff are socially responsible and picks up thrash from the beach so everyone could enjoy the beach at its best condition. It is also a dog friendly restaurant and you will see many regular customers bringing their dogs over for a meal while the dog plays at the beach or just lay under the shade.

I have been to many popular restaurants in Samui but I think that Hug Samui is the best out of all. In fact I have went back 3 times during my vacation. You gotta try their spicy seaweed salad or fried seaweed that is freshly harvested from the sea. They are only available on certain seasons!

The restaurant is also next to Natural Wing Spa which is incredibly affordable resort and there's also a Muay Thai Gym. Highly recommend everyone to visit Hug Samui if you are in the Bang Po area. You wouldn't want to...

Amazing place to be for its serenity, cozy, romantic beach and breathtaking view. We came as a couple and we fell in love with Hug Samui immediately. Their spa massage menu (2 - 2.5 hour session) is definitely a must-try. It starts off with a cool steam corner within the beautiful Thai garden. And their professional masseuses will then pamper you to lead you into the deepest relaxation you could ever wish for. We love the freshness and richness in flavor of their food. It's super tasty and savory! Sunset is breathtaking of course ( as many comments already mentioned). What we love the most of Hug Samui : is their wholeheartedly, sincere , positivity and attentive service. Last but not least, we also enjoyed the romantic stargazing beach walk and had one of the best sleep we had in Samui (their double bed is spacious and very comfy !) We do love each single details of this place. Already looking forward to the...

We’ve been coming to Bang Por for many years although we did not visit during the Covid years. What a delightful surprise to see how the old Natural Wing cafe has transformed into Hug Samui. Everything about Hug is just about perfect: the view and atmosphere, the friendly service and the very good food and drinks. The Thai selections are all excellent especially the Southern Thai dishes. They also have some international meals and snacks for tourists who are missing their comfort foods! Local beers and drinks (young coconut!) as well as expertly mixed and presented cocktails. Even the coffee was more than acceptable, which is not often the case along the northern stretches of the 4169. At Hugs we have had breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon drinks, dinner and later night cocktails at one time or another in our few weeks here without ever being disappointed.
