Spacious open air sea view. I like to visit this restaurant, mainly because of their crab meat curry and king mackerel fish cake. They are second to none. The chef and cook are indigenous locals, so that guarantees the flavor and quality of food. I ordered something new this time which is deep fried local fish ( ปลาเหล็กโคน ).I can’t find the name in English but I’ve been told that it’s in the same specie of snapper. It’s so crisp that you can eat the whole thing. Very enjoyable. Well, every dishes on my table are too. Deep fried Horseface loach fish ( ปลาทราย ) with turmeric rub is so pretty that I wouldn’t want to eat. But with pleasure, I ate it all. Overwhelmingly sweet and spicy. Steam crab meat is scrumptious. And so is my salted steam shrimp. Very satisfying. Service is nice and courteous. The tireless older lady owner is very sweet and friendly. She asked the chef to pick out the large lump of crab meat for me. I do appreciate that. Food prices are less expensive than most restaurants. Read moreExcellent example of southern Thai flavours and produce freshness. The quality of the food reflects nicely for me as a Michelin recommended establishment on Koh Samui, and as someone who dined in a lot of local eats around the island.
Came here for lunch in good, clear (but hot hot) weather, and the cozy ambiance is just sublime with nice sea breeze and the island's beautiful beachfront views.
Many menus to choose from and this place does it true and authentic for southern Thai spices. Really nicely executed dishes, although timing felt a little tardy and inconsistent with the delivery of each dishes; but the dishes were just all so enjoyable nothing felt at all lacked.
Personal highlight is the Gaeng Pu, the crab betel leaf curry (I believe) - so packed with the herbals and spices, and southern curry flavour.
Edit: visited here again for dinner and the same nice experience is just consistent at this lovely beach...
Read moreI'm not sure what happened but our meal was very average and atmospherewas even worse. Kitchen didn't seem to be running at full capacity, had no grill? But it was very empty for dinner time, we were the only table despite them saying they were busy? We got garlic prawns which had all the right things but it came out barely warm. Tom yum soup was what was a bit better, served with a generous amount of prawns and we got a steamed small 200g crab which was average. Unfortunately the alfresco dining did not work for us. Make sure you bring insect repellent or you'll be the meal for mozzies, but also there were like a million bugs over our food... I had to pick it out of my rice because they kept flying into it. In the end we left early because the bugs were so bad. Plus our meal costed little over 1500 which I thought was more on the expensive side for what we got. Slightly underwhelmed sorry, maybe...
