Kaeng Tai Pla (Fermented Fish Curry): Honestly the best I’ve ever had. Rich, salty, flavorful, with pumpkin, yam, shrimp, and fish adding depth to the taste. Not overly spicy, just perfectly balanced.

Seafood Hor Mok (Steamed Curry): Nicely done with a balanced flavor, not overly sweet like in many Bangkok versions.

Chaiya Steamed Egg: A highlight! Soft steamed egg with crab meat and Chaiya salted egg on top – absolutely delicious.

The staff were friendly and attentive. There was a small incident when my dishes were cleared away while I stepped to the restroom, but the restaurant immediately offered to prepare everything again. Since I was already full, I kindly declined and went for the bill. Mistakes happen, and their response was thoughtful.

Overall, a highly recommended spot if you want to experience true Southern Thai cuisine in Surat Thani with a cozy atmosphere

น้องพนักงานบริการดีมาก มีความตั้งใจ แต่มีเหตุการณ์เล็กน้อยที่พอผมลุกไปเข้าห้องน้ำ อาหารถูกเก็บไปหมด ทางร้านก็พร้อมจะทำใหม่ให้ทันที แต่อิ่มแล้วเลยขอเช็คบิลแทน ถือว่าเข้าใจได้เพราะความผิดพลาดเกิดขึ้นได้บ้าง

Not sure what the reviewer below is talking about. The only woman there wearing a shorter dress was the Chang beer representative, which you will find in many places across Thailand. So don't give that review any credibility.

Kampan is actually a great place. Especially if you can get a table outside. Huge selection of traditional and more unusual Thai dishes. Another reviewer talked about dishes being spicy. Ordered several spicy dishes, confirmed with the waiter that we wanted them spicy. They were still pretty mild. Very reasonable prices. Most dishes below 100...

Great food, wonderful traditional interior styling and excellent service. I have come here many times. However, it is always badly understaffed if it is half full of customers. Waiting more than one hour for a small order of 2 dishes is common and unreasonable. Other customers who came after me were served before they arrived! It is quite ridiculous The staff are very polite and hard working, but simple requests are lost because they are over worked.
