The Chef Beach Cafe — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

This is an absolute hidden gem! We ended up chatting with the owner for an hour and he's really doing everything right here. Do yourself a favor next time you have a long wait between buses and boats at Raja Ferry, walk the 10 minutes to this place and enjoy a meal and a beautiful beach just off Donsak Pier! I'll never kill time at the boring terminal again!

The menu was great, with Thai food and Western options and tons of seafood choices, cooked by a professional chef who has worked in restaurants in several other countries and has a flair for presentation. I don't eat seafood, but the platter that was served with a burner warming parts to the table next to me look like a work of art!

The atmosphere is perfect, with covered areas and outdoor dining, direct access to the beach, chill music playing, and even a few Beach swings just made for Instagram posts!

And don't forget to grab a cheap scoop of ice cream with many flavors to choose from on your way out!

After just discovering this place, I plan on making it a stop every time I get off a boat from Koh Samui or Koh Phangan before...
