Probably the best stay I have ever had. The owners are incredible. Definitely the nicest and warmest people I have met in Thailand. Smiling all the time and being so helpful with everything. Thanks to them I felt like home. Khawp khun maak khrap! The place is located on bank of the river Ping, and have great view on the area. On the hot day you can jump to the water from lower terrace. Room are simple but very nice, cozy and clean - with dark wooden furniture and walls. It's very peaceful and relaxing place. One more element that makes this place such a gem - food. This place was mentioned in Michelin guide book for a reason - just try here the Ban Tak specialty Kaeng Ma Hae or Ma Hae curry. It's so delicious 😋 The curry is made from ma hae, or pigeon peas, pork belly, other ingredients include phrik kaeng som (sour chilli paste), fish sauce, tamarind paste, cha-om leaves (climbing wattle), and som poi (Acacia concinna) leaves are added. Dish is served with crispy rice crackers. I have tried numerous of the dishes from the menu and all of them were fantastic. Like Khao Tom Pong Kari or curry porridge with pork, Pad Thai (local version with round noodles and cabbage), super spicy (and super delicious) Nam Phrik and Nam Phrik Ong, แกงจืดกะเพราหมูสับ Thai Holy Basil Soup with Pork, and Gaeng Hung Lay - Northern Pork Belly Curry... 🤤 Highly recommended place, going all the way from Bangkok just to visit this place was definitely worth it 😊 I hope I'll be back here.

How happy I am to have spent the four last days at Wattana Hip. The most charming guesthouse in Thailand so far. If you want to relax by the river, visit astonishing temples and National parks and try the best of the northern Thai cuisine, visit Ban Tak and stay at Wattana Hip. The owner prepares the best meals and while your food gets ready you can have a swim in the river. Thanks Nut and all the Wattana’s team. I will be back.

A hidden jem in Tak. An authentic local food restaurant located by the bridge with scenic view. The place itself is like an old northern house. If you want to taste the real local dishes, this place is highly recommended. The staffs are super friendly. The price is good!

Great spot next to the river. Nice area to relax in between the two rooms, overlooking the river and the bridge. Road traffic a bit noisy but calmed down at about 20.00. Food was excellent, but wish there had been prices on the menu, lol. Great Thai breakfast set us up...
