I was there late evening, around 7pm. Can't see the place till u cross the river. Beautiful location. Immediately took a liking to it. Whole place was setup like a campsite theme. Very cool.
To get there, one needs to cross a river via a bamboo bridge. Its relatively safe. Just hold on to handles and u'll be fine. Not so suitable for old folks with walking disabilities.
When I got there it was already dark, so the whole dining/chilling area was already lit up. Which was very nice. With the right group of friends. U can sit here all night. But pity they closes at 8.30pm or 9.30pm. I was lucky enough as the boss was there drinking, so he told us we could stay as long as he's still there.
Food was good. Much better than I anticipated. Tried their salt baked talapiah, tender, and their homemade sauce for dipping was excellent. Also like the fried sun dried pork. Excellent beer food.
The boss is extremely friendly and welcoming. Often came over to ask if everything was ok.
Will definitely...
Read moreWe are campers from Penang, Malaysia, and decided to spend a night at JTP Cafe River Camp in Betong. The owner and staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. We brought our own tent, but the campsite was well-equipped with a flysheet, chairs, a table, plug points, Wi-Fi, a fan, a lamp, mosquito repellent, and clean toilets.
The campsite also includes breakfast and free use of canoes, which was a nice touch. The river is kids-friendly, making it a great spot for families. At night, the atmosphere becomes so romantic, and the entire place is calm and peaceful.
The owner is a very friendly and nice guy who regularly checked in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
Huge thanks to the owner and team! We’ll definitely be back and will recommend this campsite to our camping friends in Malaysia. 😊
