Riverside Restaurant Betong 来福餐馆 — Restaurant in Yala Province

For dinner, we simply walked across the lane to Lai Fok 來福 Riverside Restaurant, which has been operating for about seven years. According to the waitress, the owner is Thai-Chinese.

Their tilapia is said to be of top quality, so we picked one straight from the tank. The three dishes we ordered did not disappoint—the tilapia was nicely steamed in Thai-style sauce. It could have been even better if a larger fish was available, instead of the 1.4kg we had.

a simple but nice place for good food n chill out with buddies. Love the tilapia fish, fresh fr the pond with just the right texture. the 1kg+ size is hard to find in msia and that adds to the thick flakes of meat in every bite for 100% satisfaction level, 吃得太过瘾了！ The owner Chong explained how the fish are reared in fresh water up in the hill thats why their meat is so naturally sweet, without tasting like mud. we had 2 meals there n tried out a deepfried version with gravy n steamed style, both are splendid in their own ways. Off the main road. Same road as the butterfly hotel. Ample parking. It is beside a fast flowing river. The place is kept cool by the fans. Only tilapia available but swimming fish. Kaeng som tilapia nicely done. A bit more spicy. The claypot brinjal hit my spot. Hot and yummy. Steam egg too. Perfect. Paku pakis is also good. The Thai roast pork knuckle is a bit dry. The sugar cane juice came in a glass bottle. Very fresh. It was a comfortable and good lunch. The flowing stream can easily make one doze into slumber land if lie down on a lazy chair.
