This was the worst experience! We went here as we are visiting from out of town as my bf is working in area and this was suggested but the service was horrible ! SANDRA is absolutely the worst manager w no compassion or care for guests.idk if they treated us different bc we are a young mixed couple but it was clear they didn’t care about our business. We changed our order within 2min and they had a problem w that. I ordered a ribeye medium rare and they brought my bf food out 18min before mine then when I got my steak it was well done! They offered nothing in return! My bf waited for my food to come to eat together and by the time my food came out his plate was cold. They offered nothing in return for not only over cooking my steak but the issue of him getting his food and waiting 20min for mine to even come out. Food should come out together and then no lack of compassion or understanding after we waited for my plate to come out incorrect like we aren’t paying for a service. Restaurants provide a service that’s what we as guest pay for and we paid for cold food and horrible customer service Again maybe it’s bc we are young and an interracial couple but this was a horrible experience and SANDRA Did NOTHING to rectify the situation pre judging us like we can’t afford everything we ordered and we ordered 3 round of drinks and 2 appetizers before our meals even came out. the sushi app roll app was good tho but they JUDGE YOU when you walk in and the manager had an attitude as if we were wrong for speaking up on the service SANDRA DO BETTER AS THE MANAGER BC YOUR ATTITUDE IS HORRIBLE AND CLEARLY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I am very disappointed in this restaurant especially after all the great reviews this was very disappointing and a waste of money they didn’t even clear the apps off the table while waiting for the steak I moved the sushi plate to other side of table thinking my steak would be right out but 20min later it arrived and they still didn’t remove the app plate. just not a good experience very disappointed

This is an excellent restaurant in an awesome location right on Westlake Lake! The Landing Sushi Bar & Grill specializes in sushi (hence the name), but has so much more, ranging from steaks, fish, other American classics, pastas, a plethora of appetizers, and more! It is pricey, but where else are you going to find lakefront dining in Southern California? Very few places offer this! When it’s nice outside, you can sit on the patio and take in the views. I really enjoy it! This most recent visit, we opted for a majority of sushi items: Big Eye Tuna Carpaccio (absolutely wonderful starter), Endless Summer Roll, Fancy Roll, All-In Roll, Tiger Roll, OMG Roll, Snap Crackle Pop Roll, and a Mongolian Beef Bento Box! Everything was really good! Some of the best things were the tuna carpaccio, OMG Roll, and Fancy Roll, however all were great. There wasn’t a single thing we ordered that we really disliked. This is one of the better sushi restaurants in this part of LA and we will continue to return! The combination of great food + lakefront dining is virtually unbeatable. It’s really nice having this little mall area on Westlake Lake that has these restaurants. Check this place out if you haven’t yet!!

Lovely restaurant right by the water! Off the bat, we were immediately attracted to the plentiful outdoor seating. They even welcomed our dog 🐶 with his own bowl of water. The drinks were aesthetically pleasing, but could have packed a little more punch for me. Chicken Picatta was alright, but literally swimming in oil… way too greasy and heavy if you ask me. Fries were perfectly crispy! The good news - the sushi was actually incredible! The nigiri, sashimi, and cut rolls were irresistible. So surprised at how good the fish was for a restaurant that doesn’t exclusively serve sushi, but we learned that there are actually two separate kitchens (one for sushi, one for other selections). Smart move in case someone in your party isn’t a sushi fan, but you’re still craving it 😜 The staff were so sweet and very helpful. Pricing was fair considering the excellent service and pleasant atmosphere, but do wish the regular food items (besides the sushi) reciprocated higher quality for these prices. Nonetheless, a pleasant experience and worth a visit for an enjoyable meal outside!

Ordered two teriyaki chicken bento boxes and two Mongolian beef bento boxes. The chicken was thin, crispy and charred, similar to overcooked bacon. It was extremely dry and tasted like charcoal. The teriyaki sauce didn't seem to have been used to marinade the chicken. I've had way better teriyaki chicken at Yoshinoya or Teriyaki Madness for a quarter of the price. As far as the Mongolian beef, it was really a thick syrupy glaze over strips of beef. Unfortunately, they were cold. The California roll sushi was not what I expected. It was a puree rolled in sushi rice and nori. Not sure what was in it because I could see or taste the individual sliced cucumber, avocado, and crabsticks. And we had to ask for chopsticks, wasabi and ginger. Because it was a reunion with old friends, we asked the busboy to take a picture for us, but he said he didn't do that. So the next table guests offered to take the photo. This was my second time after a few years, but I probably won't return, even for the beautiful lakeside sunset view.

Used to live in the area. Came up from San Diego last weekend. Had no idea reservations are required- you could always sit inside before. Lauren the hostess was so kind and understanding with our plight. She did everything she could to find us a table with a short wait time. Omar was our server and he was so friendly, happy, and attentive even though it was a mad house last Saturday. Everything was FANTASTIC. Same as I remembered (I ALWAYS ordered the salmon bento box with beurre blanc sauce but only teriyaki on menu now. Thankfully they let me substitute! Hubby had Korean flank steak stir fry and he said the beef was delicious. We started with the Albacore Sashimi Special and it was divine! The fish was so fresh that it basically melted in your mouth. Oh, and the bruleed banana/brownie/icecream was fantastic!) Outstanding service, a beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food! We will definitely be back- but we'll make reservations for sure next time!

We are here on what was likely the hottest day of the year, or close to it. With only outside dining available we were a bit wary. However, their staff were masters of manipulating the myriad umbrellas to create a barrier between all of the diners and the scorching sun and the diners, so much so it was very comfortable when the thermometer read 101. The food and service were very good. The sushi was on par with the most fastidious Japanese restaurant. We had the shrimp tempura, shishito peppers, double yellow tail roll, and sashimi platter. I never expect much from roles as the sauce lets the place cover up inferior fish. But this one was as fresh as could be. Really restored my faith in rolls. But the star was the sashimi. Out of the ocean fresh, and quite delicious, perfect texture. I enjoyed the experience so much that we are coming back tomorrow with 2 friends. I highly recommend The Landing as the place to go for an intimate or family meal.
