If you’re looking for a burger joint that delivers on both flavor and freshness, The Only Burger is a must-try! Their menu is packed with amazing options, and my personal favorites are the Original Beef, Oklahoma Beef, and Swiss Shroom. The patties are always juicy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with ingredients that make every bite unforgettable. While the burgers are exceptional, I often find myself returning for the Battered Fish with Rice. The combination of the crispy fish, flavorful sauce, coleslaw, and onion rings is simply irresistible and keeps me coming back for more.
What sets The Only Burger apart is their consistent quality and welcoming service. The team is always friendly, patient, and approachable, even during busy times. On Fridays, when I visit this kopitiam, they never rush me if I take extra time to order or pay, making every experience stress-free. The side dishes are equally impressive, offering a variety of choices that my family, friends, and I all enjoy. It’s not uncommon for me to tapao (take away) some meals for them or sit down together at the kopitiam to savor the food on-site.
Ultimately, The Only Burger delivers more than just great food—it offers a warm, community-oriented dining experience. From their fresh, delicious menu to their kind and professional staff, they’ve truly won me over. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite alone or sharing a meal with loved ones, this spot never disappoints. Highly...
Read moreThe Only Burger (Tampines): Promising Name, But Try the Burger Next Time!
Curiosity led me to "The Only Burger" in Tampines, a name that certainly sets high expectations for their namesake dish. I was set for other carbs available at the same kopitiam hence I decided to venture beyond the burger and tried their Battered Fish with Fries.
At $8.90, the price point for the set was set competitively, aligning with what you'd expect from a casual eatery. The fries were decent, a standard accompaniment. As for the battered fish, it was just okay. My main feedback was that the batter significantly outweighed the actual fish. While it had a pleasant crispness, I found myself wishing for more substantial fish within that golden casing. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't particularly memorable.
Given the restaurant's name and the generally positive buzz around their burgers online, I can't help but feel I might have chosen the wrong item for my inaugural visit. "The Only Burger" implies a specialisation, and I should have probably leaned into that. The service was prompt, and the casual setting is typical for a neighbourhood eatery.
Overall, my experience with the Battered Fish was passable. I'll likely return, but next time, my order will definitely be one of their namesake burgers – that's where I suspect their true...
Read moreCame to try this place after seeing it on GetFed. I had the Oklahoma burger while my girlfriend had the original chicken burger. Mine was really good, patty was flavourful, tender and juicy, and the flavour from the fried shallots was really good. Upgraded my sides to onion rings which were nice too, and the added cheese sauce on the side was a nice touch. On the flip side, the chicken burger was tough and really quite dry. I’m a fan of breast meat so I am usually quite lenient and understand that breast meat can be a little bit less juicy. However, this one was pretty bad, possibly due to the patty being overcooked. I believe this may be more of an inconsistency issue as opposed to it being a bad burger, perhaps texture can be improved with adjustment of the cooking times or a more consistent cooking time. Nonetheless, the flavours of the chicken burger were still really good, the patty itself having a peppery taste. Would definitely come back to try the other burgers and would love to see an improvement with the chicken burgers the next...
