Disappointing Experience at Bella Vista I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you’re prepared to deal with a rude cashier, overcharges, and hidden fees.
We visited this Italian restaurant expecting a decent meal, but were met with several disappointments. First off, their pasta selection is limited to only spaghetti — no other types available, which is quite odd for an Italian restaurant. The pasta we ordered was extremely salty, although the pizza was acceptable. As for dessert, the panna cotta had an unappealing, hard texture — more like beancurd than the soft, creamy consistency it should have.
The serving staff were polite and accommodating, which made the experience slightly better — but unfortunately, the cashier completely ruined it. When we asked for the bill, she only showed us the total amount due, without a breakdown. After paying, we felt something was off, so we asked for a detailed receipt — only then did we realize we were double-charged for certain items. When we pointed it out, she gave us a cash refund without even an apology.
Worse still, we noticed the final amount still didn’t add up. After pressing further, she finally mumbled that there was a 5% surcharge for paying by credit card — something we were never informed about in advance. This fee wasn’t itemized on the receipt and had been sneakily added to the total. Only after confronting her again did we get a full refund of the extra charges. She ended the interaction with a sarcastic “Happy?” — which was extremely unprofessional.
Overall, the experience left a bad taste — and not just from the food. I won’t be returning to Bella Vista. If you're looking for better pasta or pizza, I’d recommend checking out The Kraken instead — at least they don’t serve overly salty food or sneak in hidden charges.
Avoid Bella Vista — especially if you value transparency, quality food, and...
Read moreThe views are amazing. Good was mediocre but better than expected. I wish they had something heartier than chips or rice as a side. When I order ota-, I expect a taro or sweet potato side. Servers were shy or reluctant to serve me- not sure if cultural or they knew we'd be disappointed - but we were not. This place is where the palangis go, so be prepared for the dirty homeless looking white people from the ships. They come here and spend money but don't contribute significantly to the economy yet act superior - I just want tahaki katoa kihe Vai o faka melemu but we are are Christian...
