I have visited this place 3 times yet I've only eaten once, the Chinese food is really good and so are the drinks.. the service however is unbelievably horrible. In 2016 we walked out after waiting for 15 minutes for someone to come over, as they chatted and talked to each other. On my second visit my friends friend was working and ensured great service! This time the place was busy, so we sat at a table that needed to be wiped and prepared to wait because it's Saturday night at Castro's. After 15 minutes of watching a few server's not be swamped, my friend goes over and says something to someone at the counter they said ok, we wait almost 10 more minutes for a waitress to come over and say..." the server assigned to your table is busy, if he still is after a few more minutes I'll come help", confused I asked for one of the menus she was holding and she said, "this isn't my area and didn't give me the menu and walked away." I truly am confused as to why I couldn't have a menu to pick out our drinks while we waited, it took longer to give us an explanation than it would have to wipe the table and drop menus. At that moment we decided to leave because we're not gonna beg to give someone our money, no matter how good the food is. I usually look at reviews this detailed and think the person is exaggerating but it has now happened to me. Castro's please do some proper customer service training, had someone just wiped the table and dropped off a menu.. I'd have eaten, server would have been tipped, you would have had a return customer.. I cannot be the only person that has had...

My experience at castro's was truly amazing. The ambiance from the time you walk in was everything. Love the location very central. Parking was right across the street that's very convenient. Being a frequent traveler what caught my attention was the live kitchen. Me and my girlfriend had noodles, vegetable & shrimp spring roll, sauteed fish with chicken fried rice & Ceasar salad. The portion sizes, quality of food was perfect 🥰. Staff was very friendly & Courteous. I would definitely say it's Arima best Chinese take out/ dine in restaurants. The staff was on time with everything they didn't miss a beat. I also had a 🍓 Mojito which had the right amount of liquor & ingredients. The bar was well stock. If you are into sport its the right place to dine and watch a game at the same time. A few flat screen tv to watch your game on . I travel every 4 to 6 months to many other countries. This was my first time ever seeing the buzzer that was on each table to call your waitress for anything needed. Brilliant idea of the owner. In most restaurants you have to wave or call your waitress verbally to get their attention. I can truly recommend castro's restaurant to any local or foreigners who plan on visiting Trinidad 🇹🇹...

I think it lives up to its title of sports bar more than restaurant. Not a bad place to had out, get some drinks and eats while taking in a game; really feels like a fun spot. Food seems tasty enough although the ribs I had were a bit burnt at the bottom; forgivable judging from the amount of orders that they had. Service was great. There were no wait times between appetizers and main course. Waiters were great and floor manager was great; very attentive as to what was happening even with a full house. Reason for may ratings, space is really cramped. If there is a full house be sure you will be bobbing and weaving to get where you want to go. There is not dedicated parking, you either park on the streets or take a chance with the supermarket parking lot. At the time I was there, they were turning people away from the parking lot although there was space. Being on a main corner like that there should be at least some direction or information about the parking situation if you don't have park. All in all, a decent place for a lime once you take into consideration the parking and avoid prime times as you will find yourself shouting to the...

Great food, prices and sizeable portions. Beers are also priced well and are always cold. Atmosphere is always lively (sometimes a bit too loud) and interior is pretty inviting. The downside is the customer service. I strongly suggest they review their waitstaff as they can be really impolite (the women in particular). We have been ignored on several occasions when requesting to be seated, even on very slow days. This is usually coupled with condescending stares from some waitresses. It seems like they only cater to male patronage. Pertaining to the entire waitstaff (men and women), they lack knowledge of the menu and can't answer simple questions when asked. The degree of unprofressionalism is surprising. Hope there will be improvement.

The service was slow and the food was not that great. I had the christmas menu. My appetizer of broccolli with cheese and bacon bits was absolutely delicious! My entire meal could have been that 😆 the main course of rice, mashed potatoes, string beans wrapped in bacon and roast pork was mediocre at best. I did not eat all the pork and switched my potatoes for my friend's green salad. Dessert was good though. Cheesecake is always a good choice 😉 it was evident our waitress did not fully understand english, but she tried to pull it off by shaking her head yes 😒 the atmosphere was nice though, and once you have good company, it can still be a cool place to hang out. Not for me though. I won't be going back.

We decided last minute due to work and close proximity to home to celebrate my mom’s bday at Castro’s and it wasn’t a bad decision at all. My only negative I would give is that it’s not children friendly but everything else is a positive. The food 🤤, the service, the staff, the ambiance, the food 🤤, the drinks, the energy, the location and the food was beautiful. We paid $1000 which covered appetizers, 5 adult entrées, 1 kids meal (which was a good sized portion as well) and drinks for all 6 of us which was worth it to me. It’s definitely a hidden gem.
