My friends and I had lunch in here. When we went in, we went to the tables at the side where they make coffee and were reading the menu to decide what we were having. All of a sudden a woman very rudely approached us with an attitude telling us you can't read the menu there, she then proceeded to take away the menus and put it by the counter and say you can read it here, there aren't supposed to be menus on the table. My friend and I just both looked at each other and made nothing of it and proceeded to the counter. Next when we were reading the menu by the counter(as she wanted), people were coming to pay so she told us to move from the counter. So we did and ended up going by a table to read the menu. Literally back where we started so why the rude attitude? We finally ordered a pizza, a burger, capuccino and two coke. When we got the pizza it basically looked like ingredients lying on a pita bread. The dough was paper thin, ingredients were wet and falling off, it was so sloppy you could barely hold the slice and it was also very oily. We waited 20 mins straight and no one brought our drinks. Mind you they said they would bring our drinks at the counter. I later informed a waitress who was at the counter when we were paying at the time we hadn't got our drinks. She asked to see the bill then rolled her eyes and told us, " just now" then she went to get our drinks. The ambience was of a typical diner there is seating to eat , a section for making the coffee and another section for pastries you'd find at your typical bakery. From first glance it looks to be a very cozy place but with the rude customer service we got, it made it our experience very unpleasant. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Honestly you are better off going at Starbucks at least you can count on good...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by my visit as the reviews I got prior were not very forgiving, but I was willing to give them a try. I ordered the scrambled eggs with three ingredients (yes THREE ingredients are included) - tomatoes, green peppers and Burger meat. This was a winner! Two dashes of the black pepper and you are set. This is quite a filling meal, the bread was okay but improvement in the selection would be greatly appreciated. I mean if there's "bakery" in your name, you have to admit you setting yourself up to have some expectations to live up to. Some work is needed on their banana bread (essence and oversized raisin overload) and doughnuts (missing a filling to override the "breadiness").
My humble request is that they should step their tea selection game up. No English Breakfast or Chai or even Earl Grey 😣...no happy chomper. However I will say ample points were allotted for a full sized mug for my cuppa (ended up with Lipton).
Overall the ambiance was good, staff was quite pleasant, prices were not bad, tea was hot and my selection was tasty. Side note heard their salads were "amazing" and I must admit they really looked as such, but I'm not much of a...
Read moreA few years ago I purchased an eclair and the custard was spoiled. I unfortunately took a bite of it. İt was clearly in the showcase for a while. They agreed it was sour and took the remaining eclairs off the shelf. They offered me a fresh one and declined. They never took the spoiled eclair off my bill. I decided to give them another a try a few years later which was today. I ordered the Saltfish and bake. İt came to me pipping hot. Too hot in fact. The Saltfish soaked into the bake and it was soggy and unpleasantbecause it was just mush. I ate half just out of sheer hunger. I decided to order an almond croissant. İt came to teh table and I decided before biting into it to tear a piece off - it was clearly stale, I took a sniff and it was clearly sour. I sent it back and they agreed if smelled sour - I didn't see them take the remaining croissants off the shelf which was concerning. I give 2 stars instead of one because the staff was actually pleasant and the location is decent. I will only ever order coffee there and stay very clear...
