Patches — Restaurant in Trinidad

Last night was the first time for us dining at Patches..and unfortunately will also be our last.

Giving credit where it is due, the drive in and restaurant ambience was beautiful and we were enjoying taking it in..while we seated ourselves. That should have been our first hint. We were made to realise enjoyment of the evening was not to be ours. The beauty of the ambience was to be betrayed by absolutely poor service of the like I have never experienced anywhere before.

After sitting ourselves, having to get up to visit the counter on at least four occasions to remind we requested water, to the menu, to remind about our drink order, it was clear that service to us was either not a priority at all or was deliberately meant to be prejudicial.

I go so far as to make these assertions as I could see no other explanation: We were nothing but cordial for the entire experience. We were dressed for the occasion. Each time we asked we were given an apologetic "I'm so sorry" followed by a different excuse each time. I mean if you have to hear that 4 times something is wrong. We watched as persons came on multiple tables half hour after us got their food and completed eating all the while we enquired and awaiting to receive ours. We ordered two simple chicken meals.

PS: Only after over an hour after ordering did the food arrive. By that time I had actually just gotten up to leave after calling another nearby restaurant for a reservation.

Do better people! Your behavior has lost you a customer.. and...

Visited the restaurant today and it was not a good experience - didn’t even stay for dessert.

It took over an hour for the entrees to come to our table. Imagine if we had ordered appetizers how much longer it would have been. When we followed up with the manager on the status of the meals, she indicated the food would be out in 3 minutes but that didn’t happen until closer to 15 to 20 minutes later. We ordered the fisherman soup which was very salty and the catch of the day main was over cooked and rubbery and had to be returned to the kitchen. We then proceeded to share the sweet potato fries with the catch of the day sandwich which was okay. What was also noticeable is that people who came in after got food before our table.

The chef came to the table to apologize for the food and did say that the soup will be taken off the bill which was commendable.

In spite of the shortcoming, the waitress Gabby was very apologetic and tried her best to appease the situation.

Last night was such a disappointment! My husband an i decided to try your establishment as we love trying new places/ food but we never got a chance too ! we arrived at 7:30pm an Upon entering the atmosphere wasn't bad..a few vacant tables..slightly busy but we were greeted by the hostess and was seated on the outside (as we requested) quite fast.We were given menus which we observed had limited options available. As we made our choices...No one came to us...10mins pass..No one even stopped or even asked if we'd like drinks..or to let us know..they're coming shortly..NO ONE! Eye contact was made a few times with two of the servers whilst siting but all in vain..20 MINS just siting there ...very hungry an thirsty after driving from deep south. We saw other persons as well looking frustrated as they waited.
