As a tourist, I stumbled across this place with a group. We intended to go to Ali's across the street, but it was undergoing renovations. So, there I went. The interior isn't the most inviting, but it was nice.
Onto the menu. There were lots of options in terms of the various meets to put inside the roti, from chicken all the way to duck. There were also options of having it wrapped, with or without pepper, and what's even better, was the option to have your meal as a box meal. That basically means that you have your meal with rice, pumpkin etc.
The service was good, the quality was good, the variety was okay and so were the prices. The variety of drinks however was amazing, and they went perfectly to complement the roti. Which was also nowhere close to disappointment.
The bathrooms could be nicer, and the facilities could do with an upgrade, like the hand dryer. And the sinks. It could also use a TV or some form of entertainment for...

Next time I visit I plan on doing a brief video for this review if things don't improve.
I ordered two chicken rotis and they were great. Admittedly, the ambience experience is not all that welcoming and won't bring in guests especially women and children.
Accommodating the public is essential and shows you care not only for the dollar in...
Read morePatraj is no doubt one of the roti kings in North Trinidad, maybe the country. I am not a regular customer, just happened to be in the area last week with my brother.
I handed him a $100 bill which was just enough to buy two rotis. I ordered shrimp and roti. It was a big roti, dhalpourie was soft and sumptuous, pumpkin, mango, potato good, but I was disappointed with the size and amount of the shrimp.
We dined in, decent facilities, AC, parking space for about four or five cars, although I couldn't figure out why someone parked his bicycle in FRONT of the entrance.
I suppose the going price for a decent meal anywhere in Trinidad ranges from $40-$65. I didn't mind paying $50 for a king roti, next time I hope I can get #more shrimp, but citizens can appreciate what Patraj has done for the national community...
