Disappointing Experience at Quties Piarco Plaza

I rarely write reviews, but my recent visit to Quties Piarco Plaza was poor enough to warrant some honest feedback.

Upon walking in, I immediately noticed four staff members seated at a booth at the back of the restaurant, seemingly disengaged. I stood at the bar for around 10 minutes before the bartender emerged from the back. When he did acknowledge me, there was little to no service engagement—no greeting, no enthusiasm, just indifference.

I had to ask the manager for a menu, which should be a basic part of the dining experience. At that point, I was told there was only one burger patty left and no chicken tenders available—already limiting options significantly.

I placed an order for both an appetizer and a main. The wontons were enjoyable, but the 1/4 chicken meal was overcooked and lacked any real flavor. No one checked in to see if the meal was satisfactory or if I needed anything else—not even a drink refill.

After finishing, I waited another 15 minutes before walking up to the bar to ask for the bill. That process was disorganized and impersonal. The drinks weren't even added to the meal order, making the billing process feel transactional and poorly managed.

What really sealed the disappointment for me was giving honest feedback to the manager—who seemed entirely unbothered by my experience.

I wanted to love this place. Made some great memories on my last visit to Trinidad but... It was around 4 in the afternoon and they were out of so many things! No milk based drinks. No specific flavors of Shandy, I think they only had Sorrel. My friend ordered a daiquiri only to be told they only had strawberry daiquiris. Cool. When someone else in our group ordered another strawberry daiquiri, we were told they used the last strawberry on the 1 daiquiri we ordered previously. Foodwise, no pasta dishes, no jerk pork bites... sigh. The food we DID get was mediocre to poor. Great tasty dishes. My husband love steak and I saw this place on FB. Their menú is great with lots of drinks as well to choose from. There is an outdoor sitting area great for hanging out with friends or love ones. My husband and I both had their 8oz steak with mash potato and wedges it came with 2 side of your choice for $120.00 . I must say it was cooked to perfecto medium rear.
