It was a horrible experience. My wife and myself went for the lunchtime buffet. We were seated prompty but no server came to our table within the first 10 minutes. So when we saw a party going to the buffet we assumed we could to. A waiter promptly and rudely asked us if our server told us to come up to the buffet. He ushered us back to our table and said we could not proceed to the buffet unless our server told us we were next. When we told him this was bad service because the person that seated us did not inform us of this and no server came to us, he interupted and said NO IT IS NOT BAD SERVICE!!! I quickly reminded him that it was my opinion which I am sharing and was justified to do so. He apologised, left and a waitress finally came asking if we wanted to place our drink order which we informed her we would after we got our food (not knowing when that would be as this phantom server we had to wait on was still absent). Close to the 20 minute mark of waiting the rude waiter returned behind me and very unprofessionally told me and my wife we could proceed. By the time we did get to the buffet all the chicken was done. My wife asked the unprofessional waiter when a new batch of chicken would be out to which he assured he would personally bring some to her (we thankfully did not hold our breath....our we would have died from lack of oxygen). We had our meal. No waitress returned to take our drink order. No waiter returned with chicken as he assured. Only when he overheard me and my wife discussing the poor service did he ask "Do you still want the chicken?". Please note this was at the end of our meal. Which by the way was absent ANY drinks because the waitress must have stepped into a black hole and disappeared from this reality as she never returned. My wife politely said no thanks and asked for the bill. The best waiter in Couva said he would bring it immediately. Of course that went the way of our drinks, server and chicken. It never came. Super waiter decided to become the hostess and was now greeting customers at the door. Entirely exhausted from the experience we went to the front desk to pay instead. Only to see our waitress returned from her trip through the black hole making a video call next to the cashier. Maybe she was calling for our drinks. I will never know. But what I do know is that I will never return to Touch n Taste because of this horrendous experience and would never recommend...
Read moreI was planning to enjoy a valentine's dinner with my girlfriend at Touch n Taste. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I called on January 21st and placed a reservation for 7:00PM on valentine's night (Feb 14th), 26 DAYS before the date. So we arrive for our 7:00PM reservation, and to our shock, there were a mountain of persons waiting outside the front door (See pictures attached). We thought to ourselves that it may just be persons who would like last minute reservations and they are having them wait outside. To my disappointment, this was not the case. There was nobody representing the establishment outside attending to people waiting, and there was no way to get into the building due to the amount of persons waiting outside. No social distancing, no management of space. So after 15 minutes of waiting, I could see the disappointment on my girlfriend's face, which caused me infuriation, because we RESERVED A TABLE 26 DAYS IN ADVANCE. So I began asking questions to the persons waiting outside, and apparently, some of the persons waiting outside had reservations made for the time 6:00PM, and THEY WERE STILL WAITING after an hour and a half (the time was now 7:30PM) with no sign of hope because all the restaurant staff were inside, and ignoring all of their waiting patrons. Rain began to fall, and I had to find shelter for my girlfriend. I was so fed up at this point that I decided to give them 10 minutes of waiting before I left. I'm sure you can guess what happened afterwards. We left disappointed, angry, and upset. I count myself lucky that I managed to secure another reservation at another restaurant.
To the management staff at Touch n Taste, you will never see me or my girlfriend's face ever again at your organization, and I will make it my duty to ensure that nobody I know, patronizes your horrid establishment. I will not accept the dog treatment that you are passing out to your consumers. I do not thank you for your service. In my mind, your organization owes both me and my girlfriend a debt that cannot be repaid. I anticipate your organization's imminent closure and I will be attending the demolition of the building when you eventually go bankrupt due to your disgusting service.
If I could rate this establishment -5...
Read moreTerrible service. My daughter, myself and two other ladies had to wait a long time for the hostess to greet us at the door. Upon someone FINALLY arriving, they didn't even check for our reservations, they just seated us. (I was actually trying to call to let them know that I will be a little late and no one answered the phone). AGAIN I waited to be attended to for a long time. No one attended to us to find out what we would be having that day, didn't bring us the menu, nothing. After sitting for some time, I saw persons lining up, then I saw everyone serving themselves (which was the buffet station) so my daughter and I just got up and waited like everyone else. They started giving everyone gloves, then when it reached my daughter and myself to receive gloves, they ran out!. That place is also very dirty. Dusty window sills, dirty chairs, especially the legs like they've never been wipped, dirty rusting and outdated centre pieces. Those chairs are also very uncomfortable, kept sliding back and they are too short! Very VERY frigid water when I went to wash my hands in the bathroom, and also no paper towels or even a dryer to dry your hands!. The food wasn't all that, I could've done way better in my own kitchen, but considering it was only $50, that should've been a red flag. I am soooooo glad I did not go with my brother and his wife because I would have felt ashamed. They have the human resource, but it seems as if they don't know how to place and manage them because the wait staff was all over the place. I had to wait a long time, actually call out to someone after I was fed up, to get a drink. I had to wait to pay, got fed up and walked over to the counter and ask them what's going on. The girl was like "oh, you have to come to the counter to pay". Like geez 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. While again waiting to pay at the counter, I was waiting on the cashier, but no, everyone laughing and talking and lining, I couldn't believe it. Till the cashier who was liming, just scrolled across and finally attended to me. For all the hype and pretty pics on FB, this place ain't no where close to the hype and what I'm accustomed to with good restaurants. It was my first time and I WILL NEVER GO...
