Zenon Beach Club — Restaurant in Djerba Island

Zenon Hotel Security said I can’t stay there because the beach is for Zenon hotel guests. Because of the language barrier, I couldn’t ask “Where is Zenon hotel?”

I didn’t see the Zenon Hotel at all. So I was confused. 😳

I saw Tui Blue Hotel and Hotel Fiesta - where both hotels have private beaches directly behind them, but no Zenon Hotel. This Zenon beach club is a bar nearby and was closed (listed to open at 12AM or midnight), but no Zenon Hotel.

I was already a little perturb from the upsells of camel rides and parachuting, but the amazing beach views was calming me down - until security came along.

Eventually, I did find out where the Zenon Hotel is. It’s about a 5 minute walk from this beach club - across the street from L’Autre Monde restaurant that’s closed. I wanted to have lunch there, but it was closed for Eid al-Adha, although it’s listed as open on Google.

Now I understand the jurisdiction with the Zenon Beach Club, but I was the only person there and I don’t think hotel guests would walk 5 minutes to a beach if there’s beach access direct in the backyard of the hotel? Perhaps Zenon hotel has no beaches behind the hotel? And this Beach Club opens at midnight per Google.

Anyway, there are 2 morals of this review. When visiting a Muslim country, check the Muslim lunar calendar for any Muslim holidays and if going to a destination known for its beaches, make sure they’re public beaches if you’re not staying at any of the resorts to access their...
