La Casa Coco Beach — Restaurant in Maghreb

Today, Sunday, July 9, 2023, I had the opportunity to spend a full day with my family at Coco Beach in Ghar El Melh. Overall, I had a mixed experience and would like to share my impressions. I'll start with the positives.

One aspect that stood out positively was the transportation service from the land to the beach. It was fast and efficient, allowing us to reach our destination without any hassle. Additionally, I must commend the hospitality service we received throughout the day. The staff was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. The quality of the food was also noteworthy, and we thoroughly enjoyed the culinary offerings.

However, there were a few negative aspects that detracted from our experience. One of the main concerns was the sailing of fast boats in close proximity to the swimming areas. It seemed as though the boats were indifferent to the presence of swimmers, and at times, they passed almost over our heads. This created an unsettling environment, especially for parents like me who were concerned about the safety of their children. Similarly, the use of water bikes was a cause for worry as well. They seemed to be operated recklessly, posing a significant danger to both riders and swimmers. Throughout the day, I found myself constantly on edge, fearing for the safety of my children due to the lack of adherence to safety guidelines.

In comparison to countries that are known for their pioneering efforts in the field of tourism and have strict laws in place, such as Thailand and the Emirates, the issues I encountered at Coco Beach felt quite chaotic. The place was beyond our expectations. I booked this place for my daughter’s 20th birthday and felt like we went to Maldives. Everything was organised well from the boat transportation from the mainland to the island, the perfect presentation and delivery of the food, the birthday cake with the entrance and the music that surrounded all the area. I can’t stress enough how toilet hygiene is important to me especially in a beach places and surprisingly I can say that this is the first place with the cleanest public toilet I have ever been.
