Değirmen Restaurant — Restaurant in Kepez

We joined the traveling tour and visited here for lunch on 26th Oct 2019. Due to one of members had stomach issue, we requested to change the meal from fish to other meat four hours before we arrived and if there is any extra cost required, we agreed to pay the balance. However, after we finished our lunch, this restaurant requested us to pay full amount including the fee of the meal of meat plus fish even though we changed to meat already and didn’t eat any fish. The restaurant insisted that since every group order has to be ordered before 24 hours and can’t be changed. Any change can only be extra ordered and charged extra even. This rule only informed right after we finished the lunch. So we pay extra fee including meal of fish plus meat even though they didn’t serve us any fish. The restaurant is situated in an excellent location next to the river. Unfortunately, the food there is very expensive and not good. We ordered fish for 34 TL (which was the cheapest) and choban salad for 15 TL. The fish was not cooked completely and it was without any flavor. I didn't have any negative experience with the staff. The waiters behaved politely but they looked quite tired and depressed. I got the feeling that the relations between staff in the restaurant are not good and that's what affects their behavior towards the guests. WE were a party of 14 turning up with no booking in the middle of the afternoon for a late lunch - we guessed the time of day accounted for them not being full. The reasons ? The setting is stunning, right by the raging water, the service was rapid and attentive and constantly willing and the food was superb. If you want fine dining this is not for you, but if you want to have a truly fabulous meal (kebabs of any type or fried trout cooked to perfection) served faultlessly in a unique setting you'll not find better anywhere.
