Flavours That Bring You Back Again
I don’t usually return to the same restaurant twice while traveling, but Nora Garden became the one and only exception — I went there two nights in a row, and for good reason.
The restaurant’s garden feels like a breath of fresh air after a long day exploring the valleys and fairy chimneys. Sitting under the open sky, surrounded by greenery and soft lights, creates an atmosphere that is both relaxing and inspiring.
Every dish we tried felt like a celebration of tradition done right. The testi kebab was unforgettable — tender meat slow-cooked to perfection, released from the clay pot with a little ceremony that adds to the experience. The köfte was juicy and full of flavor, the gözleme warm and comforting, and the mezes so fresh and varied that the table instantly turned into a colorful feast.
But what truly elevates Nora Garden is the people. The staff are exceptionally polite, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their warmth made us feel like welcomed guests rather than just customers, and that’s why going back for a second night felt natural.
Nora Garden is about savoring flavours, enjoying the fresh breeze in the garden, and experiencing hospitality that stays with you. If you’re in Cappadocia, this is not just a restaurant — it’s a memory...
Read moreWe chose to stay in Nar for a quiet finish to our holiday, and we were delighted to find such an excellent restaurant within a few minute's walk of our hotel. We went twice. The first time was for a late lunch, and a wedding party was in progress. We expected to be turned away, but were instead welcomed onto a covered terrace from where we could watch proceedings while sampling some fine dishes. We even received a slice of wedding cake! The next evening, we came back for dinner. We both chose vegetarian dishes, and everything was exceptionally good, being both flavoursome and fresh. The highlight was the opening and serving of the clay pot kebab, a Cappadocian speciality. The owner, Sena, runs the restaurant with the professionalism one would expect from someone who taught restaurant management for several years before opening Nora Garden Restaurant, and naturally her staff have received excellent training (we learnt this detail when she kindly drove us back to our hotel after dinner). Overall, this was the best vegetarian cooking we tasted during our 15...
Read moreThe restaurant was about a 20 minute walk from our hotel but with the help of Google maps and well marked street signs, we found our way to Nora Garden. We were warmly welcomed by the host. It was a comfortable family friendly atmosphere.
I’m celiac and follow a gluten-free diet and our server was very helpful pointing out the different options for me. Our meal tasted like good home cooking. We split a Greek salad which was garden fresh. I ordered the testi kebap, the Cappadocian specialty where stew is baked in a pottery vessel. The presentation was artful and the stew was rich and flavourful. My husband enjoyed the mezze served with a basket of hot bread. For his main, my husband ordered a burger was impressed by the generous size. We also ordered a roasted vegetable and yogurt mezze to share which was a great accompaniment to the rest of our meal.
I was feeling very full and a bit drowsy after eating so well, so the complimentary drop-off service to our hotel was very much appreciated. Highly recommend Nora Garden if you’re looking for a great place...
