We ordered grilled octopus as our main meal and were shocked when we were only given one part tentacle each, which although was very tasty, was wholly inadequate and looked rather pathetic on its own on the plate. Luckily we kept our starter salad, to supplement the octopus. Also ordered boiled potatoes and we're given chips. Once corrected, we received our boiled potatoes or should I say half a potato sliced into 4 pieces, all for the eye watering price of just under £10 (sterling). Throughly disappointing experience and I cannot recommend Zaitun...

We were very pleased with the service and food at Zaitun. The staff was friendly and approachable, and the food was delicious like aubergine with tomato, salad, fish soup and yogurt with potato. The dessert was outstanding, especially the fig ice cream. The staff was extremely attentive and offered tea or coffee towards the end of the meal. Friendly staff, regular meals at lavishly extreme prices .. Bonus: food poisoning .. We went with a large group and our side of the table (facing the bar, closer to the kitchen) started throwing up already in the car on the way back home. (Adults and kids..) I would not go back, think twice before you reserve. Not really worth it, you eat equally good in many other, more modest places in Izmir, for a better price and keep your digestive system intact....
