No frills local eatery with a walk-up window to place your order serving great food. There is a covered patio seating area off to the side with tables and chairs + a small bar open in the evenings offering alcoholic beverages, also picnic tables out front under palm trees next to the busy Millennium Hwy. The chicken is delicious! Seasoned well and still moist. You can eat as is or top with hot sauce which we did, a yummy punch of huzzah. The boxes of chicken come with your choice of plantains ($5 and up) or French fries ($6 and up). We had the plantains which were scrumptious, a perfect tasty side for the chicken. First night we were there, we were lucky to have Elee as the cook. Queueing in the long line, looking at the Daily Menu sign, and figuring out what to have, he came out to say hi and chat – we were coming off the beach and starving, took a chance on the cracked conch dinner plate to split between the two of us with an order of chicken and plantains + beer. We were not disappointed, wow. Nothing like the sound of the conch being pounded in anticipation of one’s dinner. It was fried perfectly, not overdone yet crispy. The heaping mound of peas and rice had good favoring and the little side salad kept simple. We had chicken leftovers to carry home with us but devoured all the conch. The Chicken Shack became a regular meal stop while in Provo. Highly recommend.

We had the fried whole fish meal and split it for two people . It was really good. It comes with a salad- lettuce, onion and tomato , not so good but a basic salad . It’s also comes with rice and bean seasoned with clove. A very decent meal for under $30 for two people . I would definitely go again and try the chicken.

The Chicken Shack: Turks and Caicos' Clucking Good Delight!

Fried chicken fiends, rejoice! The Chicken Shack in Turks and Caicos is a must-try for any island adventurer. This local gem serves up some of the most satisfyingly crispy and juicy fried chicken I've ever had.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the chicken. It's cooked to perfection - the golden-brown exterior gives way to incredibly tender and flavorful meat. The secret spices? I don't know, but it's clucking good!

Don't let the name fool you, though. The Chicken Shack doesn't skimp on the sides. Their seasoned rice and "peas" (which are actually beans for those not familiar with Caribbean lingo) are the ideal companions to soak up all that delicious chicken goodness.

Here's what impressed me:

Crispy Perfection: The chicken boasts a perfectly shattering crust that gives way to juicy, flavorful meat. Simple, Yet Flavorful: The seasoning is on point, adding a touch of savory goodness without overpowering the natural taste of the chicken. Classic Caribbean Sides: The rice and beans are cooked to perfection, providing a comforting and flavorful base for the chicken. Overall, The Chicken Shack is a fantastic option for a casual and delicious lunch or dinner in Turks and Caicos. It's perfect for those seeking a taste of local cuisine without breaking the bank. Just be prepared for some...

The area around The Chicken Shack seems like it might be a little sketchy. Not sure if I'd stop here and eat outside after dark but it was perfectly fine during the day.

You walk up to the window to order, but there is a little bit of a language barrier. A lot of items are not available. You order the chicken by how many pieces. 3, 5, etc. Don't say 2, it's 3 or 5. Luckily there was a regular local there that helped us order.

They are pieces of cut up chicken (with bones) breaded and fried. The chicken was actually pretty good. I had 5 pieces, with fries and cole slaw. The wife had a 3 piece with fried plantains. Total was only $9.00.

Perfect for a little lunch...
