Quite a disappointing experience! We ordered the raspberry cheesecake and raffaello cake. The cheesecake was as average as it gets, while the rafaello cake had perfectly captured the taste of nothing. The texture was really dry and there was no flavor whatsoever. Additionally, the service was not satisfactory. We were served the cakes with plastic utensils… when we were dining in. Upon pointing this out, the staff member proceeded to let us eat with plastic utensils instead of rectifying their mistake. If there was a REASON for not serving the food with metallic utensils, we should’ve been told beforehand; the experience was insulting and not something you expect at such a hyped-up cafe. When we were served the tea, it was brought in paper cups (on the menu it is advertised with a glass set), and we then returned it and asked for the glass set, which is what the tea should’ve been presented in in the first place. The tea was aromatic and tasty at least, but we should not have to teach the waiting staff how to do their job. You’re paying for the food/drinks AND the experience, which at this cafe was underwhelming at best and very disappointing at worst. Clearly the staff has not been trained very well (or maybe at all) in waiting. Otherwise they were polite, but that does not change the fact that the...
Read moreIt's my first time visiting Chapter cafe, and I saw a deal in the Beanz app for free matcha. Once I arrived there, I saw a crowd in the drive-through. I was in the line and called them, telling them I ordered through Beanz and telling them my order number. I believe a woman answered me, saying it was fine to stand in front of the shop as there was another car standing there and the shop served the car normally. I kept waiting and called them, reminding them of my order. Unfortunately, I don't know his name the guy who answers the phone, but he was rude. He said you should stand in the drive-through, which I told him, but I called you stated I stand in front of the store, and he said I don’t know who said that to you? as if he is denying if you are lazy why did you hire him? Do you believe I am lying? What kind of shop treats its customers like that? He said, "Maybe another branch." I know I called you the right branch. Just because the cafe has five stars, doesn’t means it is a good cafe. They are so rude lately i see non local workers are rude to locals😹😹. Keep in mind that ordering through the Beanz app means they should serve you in the car. The guy who answered the phone said, "Either you stand in the drive-through or you come...
Read moreI used to love this cafe. Im a loyal customer and want to see it succeed. it was one of my favorite spots when it first opened but lately the coffee quality has noticeably declined. The biggest issue seems to be the beans and the way the drinks are prepared. The flavor isn’t as balanced as it used to be, and there’s no consistency from one cup to the next.
The drinks also come out far too hot, which not only burns the milk but can also scorch the beans, leaving a bitter aftertaste instead of a smooth, rich one. The microfoam on milk drinks isn’t textured properly anymore it often comes flat and burnt instead of that , velvety foam that makes a latte or cappuccino stand out.
What I loved about this place originally was the care and attention to detail. Great coffee is about consistency and technique.
Milk steamed to the right temperature (around 55–65°C) to avoid burning True microfoam that blends seamlessly with espresso instead of sitting on top Balanced and consistent ratios for milk to espresso, depending on the drink
I really hope they revisit their training and bean sourcing, because this cafe has the potential to make amazing coffee again.
Something changed and i don’t know what it is! On a positive note, the breakfast...
