Suhail Restaurant at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara — Restaurant in Al Mirayr

The atmosphere of the restaurant deserves 5 of 5. And the cocktais were quite nice. But apart from that I have difficulties in understanding the extraordinary reviews here. Considering that we paid 1000 AED for just two of us, the food quality didn't match our expectations.

To explain our experience: the welcoming bread is just ok. The starters: beetroot dish is average, the beef tartare is underwhelming. We were quite excited about the main dish being the steak, but the temperature was at the boundary of barely warm/already cold, the sauces tasted like instant products from the supermarket. The sides we have ordered were aspergus with below average quality and fries, which were finally good.

The service started promising, but got quite bad over time while staying. When we gave our first feedback after the starters, that we didn't like it and left 1/3 of it, the waiter said just "ok" and took the plates away. A professional waiter would ask further details or say sorry. When we were about to leave and he asked us how we liked it, we didn't really comment that, but he was also not interested in getting further feedback. Not to mention that we were already leaving with an awkward feeling because he was "cleaning" the table from the bread crumbs by scrapping the stone table with a metal piece in his hand and making super disturbing noises.

We will surely not come back in our next 2 days at...

Starting off with the positive - the food was delicious. We loved the beef tartare, truffle soup, and salmon. The service was bad though. It took 10 mins to seat us with a reservation even though no one else was waiting to be seated. Then it took 20 mins for a waiter to come by. I'm not sure how long it was before we got our food, but the restaurant was definitely short staffed. The wait staff were working hard, but there just weren't enough of them. The creme brulee was also really bad. There was no crispy caramelized sugar layer on it. It was just custard and some strange waxy coating. That was disappointing. Maybe it was an off day. We did love the dinner...

A very nice Steak bar and fine dining restaurant at Qasr Al Sarab. It has a great view of the sand dunes and a beautiful terrace to sit outside and enjoy the delicious food. They offer a great menu which although small has delicious options for everyone. We tried the Chicken breast which was nice but make sure to order a sauce on the side as otherwise its dry on its own. The Pumpkin risotto was super nice and came in a little pumpkin, very cute! Criss Cross fries were the best! Service was amazing and I highly recommend this restaurant...
