If you’re craving an authentic Chinese hot pot experience in Dubai, Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot in International City is a culinary gem you simply cannot miss. From the moment you step into the restaurant, the ambiance transports you straight to a bustling street in Chengdu, with its traditional decor, warm lighting, and the aroma of simmering broths.
The menu is extensive, offering a variety of broths ranging from mild herbal flavors to their signature spicy Sichuan style, which packs a punch in both flavor and heat. For first-timers, I recommend the dual-flavor pot so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
The ingredient selection is top-notch, featuring fresh vegetables, thinly sliced premium meats, and an array of seafood options. The Wagyu beef slices are melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the handmade prawn balls are a must-try. Their assortment of dipping sauces is equally impressive, allowing you to customize your flavors to perfection.
The service at Shoo Loong Kan is exceptional. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to guide you through the hot pot process if you’re unfamiliar. They consistently check on the table, ensuring your broth stays at the right level and temperature.
Finally, the dining experience feels immersive, sociable, and fun — perfect for a gathering with friends or family. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of ingredients and the overall experience.

Read moreI recently dined at Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot with friends, and it was an unforgettable experience! We ordered the spicy and tomato soup bases, and both were incredibly flavorful. The combination of the noodles, soups, and the customized sauce I made following the expert guidance of Myat, one of the sweetest and most charming staff members was absolutely insane! If you get the sauce just right, it’s a game changer. Myat’s suggestions were spot on, and she helped me mix the perfect sauce. It was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted.
A special shout-out to Myat! She made sure we were taken care of, constantly checking in on us, offering excellent recommendations, and just being overall hospitable. Her warmth and attentiveness added so much to our evening, and she truly made our night special. The rest of the staff were equally friendly and helpful, but Myat really stood out.
The food was fantastic the beef and the chicken were absolutely delicious. And even though I’m not usually a mushroom person, I tried it at the urging of a friend and was pleasantly surprised at how amazing it was when mixed with the sauces.
I would rate this place a 9.7/10! The only small point is that I wished there were more forks for those of us still learning to use chopsticks, but that’s a personal challenge more than anything. Overall, Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot exceeded my expectations with its fantastic food and stellar hospitality. I absolutely loved this place and can’t...

To make matters worse, they were out of plain noodles — at a soup restaurant — and we had to settle for vegetable noodles instead.
On a positive note, the soup broth was genuinely delicious, and the fresh-cut fruits were a nice touch.
The bill, however, added to our frustration when we noticed unexplained charges for sauces from the self-serve sauce counter — sauces we didn’t even take. The server apologized and offered to revise it, but even after the adjustment, the total remained the same. At that point, we were too frustrated to continue going back and forth, so we paid the extra and left.
Overall, I'm sorry to say, the experience didn’t live up to the...
