Issei — Restaurant in Dubai

We rarely respond to ads we get on social media but in this case, we were glad we did.

We visited Issei to try the all you can eat ceviche on Sunday and honestly we came with literally no expectations. We thought that even if it wasn’t great, for the price, it still wouldn’t be a waste.

We were served by Adi and Nanette who were both very efficient and courteous. Now about the food: Oh man. Again as I said, we had literally no expectations and we were immediately impressed with the Salmon Tiradito. Then came the Scallops and we were taken aback by how fresh and good they tasted. We also tried the Mushroom ceviche(which honestly for a vegan dish was really very well made and tasted amazing), but honestly the star of the show was the Seabass ceviche. I could open a thesaurus to look for words to describe it. The mix of flavors of sweet, spicy, and sour was just perfect. We kept ordering more dishes but found ourselves full after a few more rounds. At the end, we were visited by Chef Luisa who was making sure we liked the food and we made sure to let her know how much we did and how impressed we were. Ingredients were fresh and the taste was spot on. And for 195 aed for all you can eat, given the quality, this is a deal that cannot be beat. We shall be back and we will definitely be bringing...

So happy to find such an authentic experience that reminds me of my time in Peru! Here is my breakdown of Issei

Location: Situated on the 27th floor, I was impressed by how beautiful the space looked, it’s an outdoor venue situated at the rooftop at Raddison blu in damac hills

Food: We decided to try various items on the menu and everything we tried was divine! Out of everything we tried our top three choices were

1. The lamb chops in particular was juicy 2) the sea bass ceviche was really good and it had the right amount of spice! 3) the octopus on a bed of corn I don’t know what I liked more the octopus or the corn

Service: the service was exceptional, they greet you firstly with a complementary chica morada and toasted corn. Jessica our waitress was super nice and helped us choose the best things on the menu! Thank you so much Jessica :)

Overall, We really enjoyed this authentic experience, hospitality and expect this place to get super busy very soon and can’t wait to...

What a wonderful evening we had in Issei. Even before entering the restaurant, the decor along the corridor was colourful, vibrant and inviting.

We were warmly greeted by Zayne who welcomed us and told us about the 3 for 99 offer. He recommended different drinks based on what flavours we liked. He was very informative and definitely an asset to the restaurant. Prashant was also very polite and friendly, explaining the processes of pisco and how to make certain drinks. Giovanny also gave us food recommendations, he was helpful and great at his job.

The chefs, Marlon and Luisa make AMAZING food! Their Nikkei menu is wonderful and creative. We had the quinoa balls and eggplant starters, then seabass ceviche and shrimp taco for the mains. What a feast for the senses! It was so delicious and full of flavour. I will 100% return for their food.

Final point, the vibe and the atmosphere was very chilled, great choice of music. Overall, I loved this place and look forward to...
