Kimchi Nom Nom (Delivery & Catering ONLY) — Restaurant in Dubai

I ordered the kimchi stew with beef and the tuna gimbap. Honestly the kimchi stew tasted quite good! I think it’s closer to Korean taste compared to other restaurants here. The portion size for the kimchi stew was large and had a good amount of beef (definitely didn’t skimp out) and good for the price. I recommend if you purchase from here.

Unfortunately I feel I can’t give it 4/5 stars because of a couple of things. Starting with the gimbap. It tasted fine, not exceptional but not bad either. I was disappointed because majority of my bite was just cucumber and lacked depth in flavor. The gimbap is 72 dirham which I think is a ridiculous price. They are not large sized gimbap at all, and if you go to other restaurants they are very similar and half the price. I figured if it must be priced higher, they’re larger and taste quite good. I was disappointed and felt like it was a waste of my money.

Next, the lack of side dishes. My total for 2 dishes was about 150 dirham (just adding the prices from the menu- I think with Deliveroo discount maybe 140) but no complementary side dishes?? Sauces?? Nothing. This isn’t a crazy ask since it’s considered the norm for side dishes, especially with dishes of this size and price. On the menu they charge prices for larger portions of side dishes which is fine, but normally Korean restaurants include small side dishes- at the very least kimchi.

Overall I just felt it wasn’t worth it which is unfortunate because the kimchi stew was actually very good. I would still recommend trying it and seeing if this is a good fit for you because again, the stew is the closest I’ve tasted here to actual Korean flavors and it’s appropriately priced. But maybe id skip the gimbap or other smaller dishes that are overpriced. Their lunch options look quite good and great for the price though so maybe that is a better option if you’re looking for...

I ordered takeway a couple of nights ago for a group of friends and family. We tasted nearly everything off the menu and there was not one dish that was less than absolutely delicious! The website is clear and easy to use - I love that you can slightly customize the dishes (eg no egg, extra chilli etc). My top 3 dishes would be the vegetarian japchae (glass noodles), popcorn chicken and the dumplings (both flavours), the beef bulgogi, the spicy chicken, the rolls.....ok just shows I cannot choose a top 3 - everything is delicious. Portions are generous and the presentation is good. Try the rice triangles too! They were a huge hit with my children and I've been asked to ensure that we order a regular supply! We ordered takeaways on the weekend as we were eager to try Korean food, not knowing much about it. The ordering process was easy and straightforward and each dish has a symbol for things to look out for, like vegan , gluten etc which I found very helpful. The order did not take long to arrive. The food was delicious and very authentic I believe. Some of the best kimchi I have had the pleasure of trying!
