We actually ended up here by accident — we thought it was a different restaurant that used to be at this location, but turns out they’ve moved elsewhere. Still, we decided to give this place a try — and we’re so glad we did!

To test the waters, we ordered their beef BBQ, and honestly, it was fantastic. The Mandi rice was also really flavorful. We enjoyed it so much that we came back again the very next weekend.

This time, without even looking at the menu, we ordered the same beef BBQ along with a special Kunafa — both were absolutely delicious. My little family loved it, and it was also the first time my 4-year-old daughter tried beef — and she genuinely enjoyed it. I believe that says a lot about the taste!

What truly stood out was the service. On our first visit, we were greeted by a young Arabic-speaking gentleman — his warm smile and friendly attitude made us feel instantly welcome, like we had known him for years. It was a small gesture, but it left a lasting impression.

On our second visit, it was a packed weekend afternoon and we had to wait a bit — which was completely fine. This time, a young man from Kerala assisted us, and to our surprise, he carried the same level of warmth and attentiveness as the first guy. Even during the busy hours, he made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed — with a smile.

In many places, service tends to drop when things get hectic — no smiles, rushed orders, and minimal interaction. But here, these two staff members showed that great service doesn’t need to stop during peak hours. Kudos to them — they truly made our experience memorable.

We ordered the Royal special chicken Madhbi, Beef BBQ special Mandi, and a refreshing Royal cocktail. Every dish exceeded expectations. The chicken was tender, smoky, and well-marinated, while the Beef Mandi was rich and flavorful with perfectly cooked tender meat served on aromatic rice. The mocktail balanced the meal beautifully with a fresh, cooling twist. Luqaimat and Sulaimani, served as complimentary was also delicious.

A standout aspect of our visit was the exceptional service. Sharon, the staff who served us, was incredibly attentive—not just to our table, but to all guests. From the moment we were seated, we were served promptly with soup, fresh salads, and water, setting the tone for a seamless dining experience. Our mains arrived without much wait, and Sharon ensured we had everything we needed throughout. It’s rare to experience such proactive and courteous service.

Kacha Parking is available, though the area can get a bit busy during peak times. Still, it’s a small trade-off for such a delightful overall experience.

One of the Worst Dining Experiences – Extremely Disappointed

I visited Royal Mandi & Grill Al Quasis on Sunday ( 11.05.25 ) afternoon with my family ( 3 members ) , around 1:55–2:00 PM. As expected, the place was crowded due to the weekend, which we understood. We gave our phone number and were told we’d have to wait 20 minutes for a table. But that 20 minutes turned into over 1 hour and 20 minutes with no proper update or response. Even though we kept checking with the staff, all they said was, “Yes, we will call you,” but nothing happened.

Finally, around 3:20 PM, we managed to go upstairs and get a seat. We had already placed our order for mutton haneef mandi from downstairs. Despite the long wait, our food still didn’t arrive, while customers at nearby tables who ordered after us were being served within 15–20 minutes.

We kept asking staff and managers, and every time they just said, “5 more minutes,” but nothing happened. By 3:55 PM—almost 2 hours after arriving—we were still waiting. We finally gave up and left the restaurant completely frustrated and hungry.

We informed the cash counter on our way out, but even then, there was no apology, no concern—nothing. This is absolutely the worst customer service I’ve experienced in my 19 years of dining out in the UAE.
