I have always enjoyed visiting this picturesque restaurant and have had wonderful experiences here in the past. That’s why, when my friends came to visit from Kenya, I was happy to drive all the way from Dubai last Saturday (19th of April) to share this special place with them

After a long 2.5-hour drive, we arrived about 15 minutes before closing time, only to be turned away at the door. I completely understand and respect that restaurants have to follow closing policies to ensure staff can finish their day properly. That said, I was genuinely disappointed because staff were still present, and a few diners were still enjoying their meals.

As travelers who had been on the road for hours, my friends and I were hungry and tired, hoping for even a simple cup of tea as a small gesture of hospitality. I empathize with the challenges of running a busy restaurant, but a little flexibility or kindness in moments like these can mean so much to guests, especially when other options are limited late at night.

Unfortunately, the restaurant declined to serve us anything hot and only offered cold beverages, which felt a bit unwelcoming and inflexible. After such a long journey, this left us feeling disheartened during the drive back down the mountain—still hungry, tired, plus we still had to pay the entrance fee at the gate!

I truly hope the management can understand the perspective of guests who travel far and consider extending a bit of warmth and empathy in situations like this. A small act of kindness can create lasting positive memories and make all...

The dine-in experience was an abomination. First of all, we waited a long time to have a waiter take our order which is understanding considering the restaurant was busy - which means the restaurant is understaffed on a New Year’s Eve weekend (one of the busiest) in the year! Second of all, we requested the soup to come down first and not with the rest of the food and it was one of the last things that came down, and now with regards to the rest of the food, it came: a) Cold like the food was just lying on the side for a while - they didn’t even have the curtsy to ‘heat’ it to try to save face b) The steaks was mainly ‘fat’ with a side of ‘meat’ and needless to say that the steak was not seasoned properly and lacked flavor. c) The sauce requested to come with the steak was incorrect and when I asked for the right sauce, it never came and I was left with a dry steak. d) one of the plates literally had a piece of foil amongst the food like where is the food quality check? They offered to ‘cancel’ the order which is fine - but that still leaves me hungry with no food…

When we complained that the food was cold they took it back to ‘re-heat’ so the steak came back literally tasting like an elastic because it got ‘over cooked’ when reheated.

All in all, food quality was HORRIBLE, but more than just the food being bad, I was more shocked at the POOR customer service. I can understand busy restaurants and understaffed days and overwhelmed kitchens but having bad customer service is inexcusable and honestly just bad for tourism for one of the unique...

Restaurant Review: The Fen Location: Khorfakkan, UAE Cuisine: International

Ambiance: The Fen offers a cozy and elegant atmosphere with stylish decor that creates a relaxing dining experience. Food: Each dish was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. . Service: I appreciate the staff's efforts and the enthusiasm she bring to her role. It's clear that she want to provide good service to your customers. We asked about the ingredients in the dish, she seemed unsure and couldn't provide the information we needed. It's crucial for her to be familiar with the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods. Spending some time reviewing the menu and possibly tasting some of the dishes could help. Arranging a tasting session might be beneficial. Cleanliness: Impeccably clean, from the dining area to the restrooms. Wait Time: Not that Short but well worth it for the quality of the food. Accessibility: Easy to find with ample parking, and kid friendly. Dietary Options: Offers vegetarian and gluten-free options, catering to various dietary needs. Beverages: The beverage selection is extensive, with unique cocktails and a good variety of wines. Price: Moderate, considering the quality of the food and service. Reservation: Easy to make online, but we walked in, still alright 😆 Overall: My experience at The Fen was highly satisfying. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere made for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend The Fen in Khorfakkan. Looking forward to...

Got to take a chance to had a quick bite in this place after checking out Khorfakkan’s famous waterfalls. Fen Restaurant has several locations in Sharjah and Fujairah, but this one is located in Suhub Rest Area. The area has a parking fee/hour of stay. Though you can avail a 2 hour free stay if you order at least 50dhs of meal from the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and pleasant since it has floor to ceiling glass windows. At some point you can see Khorfakkan port and the surrounding areas. And of course the mountain side. Staff were accommodating and welcoming. Their menu was massive. From Arabic food, to Ramen and Italian cuisine. We only had a light lunch. We ordered Truffle Pasta and Carbonara. Cappucino and Bottled Mineral Water (expensive) and Ube ice cream for dessert. Truffle pasta is amazing. Got shaves of truffle mushroom on top not just the oil. Several selections of mushroom were there, that made it colorful. The pasta was not overcooked. Same with the Carbonara, it was creamy. Chicken was tender. The pasta was not overcooked. Loved the cappucino. The fruity taste on their beans gave out additional aroma. The water was too expensive though. Kinda disappointing that the dessert was served first. The ube ice cream was creamy, not as soft and fine as what we usually have. Special thanks to Aye Chen, our table rep for that day. She made sure our foods were ok and quite attentive to our needs. ** tip of you find the service worthy

A Must-Visit Gem with a Scenic View at Fen Cafe and Restaurant in Khorfakhan - Fujairah From the moment you step into Fen Cafe and Restaurant, you're greeted with a warm and genuine welcome by the staff, who immediately make you feel at home. Jeff, the manager, stands out with his friendly demeanor and insightful suggestions for additional tourist destinations, which greatly enhance the overall experience. His knowledgeable recommendations add a unique touch to your visit, making it even more enriching and memorable. The staff's hospitality is further exemplified by Jakaria, whose attentive and friendly service ensures that every guest feels incredibly special and well-cared for. The setting is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views that perfectly complement the dining experience. One of the highlights of this place is their coffee, and their signature "ube latte" is a must-try. The unique blend of flavors in the ube latte, crafted by the talented baristas Dareel and Platon, is both delightful and memorable, making it a standout choice for any coffee lover. Overall, Fen Cafe and Restaurant is a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy excellent service, a beautiful view, and exceptional coffee. It's a place you'll want to visit again and again.
