Curry Lounge — Restaurant in Amber Valley

I found the Curry Lounge on the internet, after looking at the menu we decided on the meal for two as you choose your own main dish. When I arrived to collect from a lovely modern looking restaurant with friendly staff, I was asked to wait in a corner next to the toilets for my order to be finished being cooked. I was then summoned to come pay for my order, to be told that the 10% discount wasn't applicable to my order and the price had gone up by £2.00, after payment I was sent back to the "naughty corner" to wait again for my order to be finished. When I returned home my food was still hot "great I thought". Crispy light popadoms a nice pickle tray, to be followed by subtlety flavoured chicken tikka, all good so far, the onion bhaji were ok, the Bombay potatoes were bland mush, the rice was nice, but the two main Currie's were a chicken tickka masala, and a chicken balti, these two dishes were only sepperated by the taste of coconut in 1 and that one was so much redder than the other (so red the tikka could have been used to colour a post box). If I was compiling a top 100 of Indian food this place could possibly scrape into No. 85 for the popadoms and rice. RUBBISH, they got one star because I couldn't give ½ a star. When we got there it was only half fill but the seating lay out was lovely, looked really nice. We ordered Pompadums and pickles came out quickly but that is where it all went down hill. Some was still eating when taking plates away and we had no napkins on the table. Then over an hour for food to come but waiter was rude when we asked how long it would be. When food did come it one was over cooked, all curries had no flavour and bland. I send mine back it was that bad and came back out all they had done was add alot of hot powder or sauce. The waiter then stood they with a grin saying try it is that spicy for you. I can eat spicy his face dropped but it had no taste or flavour at all. I’ve been coming here regularly and the food isn’t standard recently service is always amazing we asked owner that we had some issues about chicken korma also chicken madras the chicken wasn’t eatable he ignored us can’t even explain he was so rude But after meal I asked the waitress if she actually receives the tips left on card payments, and she said no. I’ve also noticed that the boss doesn’t let the other waiters keep their card tips either. This has been going on for a while, and it is against the law.
