Decided to nip in for a quick lunch & wish I'd not bothered. We ordered on the touch screens & asked for table delivery as we had a baby with us so it was easier. Found a table easy enough, it wasn't clean but that's fine as it was pretty busy. We sat and waited over 15 minutes before a very flustered lady came rushing round the store shouting has anyone ordered chicken on the bone? Yes that was me (plus about 5 other people who were also waiting) she then advised me that they'd run out of chicken on the bone & it would be at least half an hour before it would be ready. By this point we'd been waiting nearly 30 minutes so I said I wasn't willing to wait and would like to swap it for something else. I asked if we could be prioritised as the baby was getting restless, so the flustered lady took my receipt & said she would sort it. 10 minutes later she rushed over to our table to drop the food off & we were very grateful she had prioritised us but she had missed the drink & when we checked the food half of it was missing so we still had to go back up to the counter to fetch the drink & missing food. Finally, we were ready to eat, but when we opened the snack box there was a tiny scoop of fries & a lame looking mini fillet as this was my alternative. To say I was disappointed was an understatement and by this point I was so hungry! All in all it was a poor experience which is sad as I used to rate this branch one of the best in the area compared to Sutton-in-Ashfield & Mansfield. I don't think we'll be rushing back any time soon. Thanks to the staff for trying their best but it doesn't take away from the dirty store, dirty tables & no chicken in a...
Read moreThe staff seem stressed, there are long waits before your order is taken, I think this is probably because they are measured on how long it takes to get food ready once ordered and they're afraid that if they take orders immediately, the kitchen will be more stressed and their stats will look bad.
The knock on effect is that customers are already annoyed before even placing their orders so the serving staff only meet angry customers which isn't going to help with their well-being or their level of service.
At my last visit, it took 20 minutes from joining the queue to receiving my food, but the food wait was only 10 minutes of that. It took 7 minutes from completing the transaction with the person at the counter when I arrived to taking the order of the next in line (who was just before me).
There is almost always something wrong when your food eventually arrives such as missing dips or the wrong "Devil Bites" which is another sign of stressed staff not being able to focus on the details.
The facilities are not well invested in, the scanners for QR codes on the KFC app don't work and one of the tills is out of order because the chip and pin machine is missing.
The food itself is always cooked and just like every other KFC, it's just a shame that the staff seem to be badly trained and under too much pressure from either the management or the franchise to be able to give good...
Read moreNice food, Stacey was excellent as always, so the 5* review is for her.
However, I need to complain publicly about the management's dogged insistence on people using the kiosks to order instead of the tills when they know full well that some functionality is not possible on the kiosk, leading to doubling up on work for the staff, not to mention a manager querying why I was being assisted at the till on my last visit, which made me feel like I was doing something wrong or was potentially getting a staff member into trouble for helping me.
If you have a student card, this CANNOT be processed on the kiosk. You therefore need to order at the kiosk, select to pay with cash, go to the till, remember your order number as the printer on the kiosk hasn't worked in weeks, get a member of staff to manually input the loyalty card number as the kiosk doesn't transmit it to the tills, then pay for your order as normal - not to mention suffering the discomfort of seeing a staff member having to justify to management why they were helping you at all.
It's a lot simpler to just place orders like this directly at the till. The software for the kiosks is not ready for 100% ordering at the kiosks, and the only reason I can think of for this blinkered view is to attempt to get rid of some of the hardworking staff who have made the restaurant a success.
